I have performed a bit of research, looking for a means to view tide levels on the ‘Vertical’. I understand the primary focus of the Vertical is hiking and activities that do not necessarily (at least most of the time) have a need for Ocean information. I also understand that Suunto does have an Ocean line. However, as a hiker and tide levels are important, as trails in a lot of coastal location have a need for tide information. I suspect other Vertical owners would like to have a tide graph option when a trail does take you to sea level. ie…Hawaii, Calf, Oregon, Washington…just name a few that are west coast, which is where I am.

I am not looking for Suunto to provide all water options available with the Ocean watch into the Vertical. Rather just a means to set a location and provide tide graphs information for that location. perhaps features & alert similar to Sunrise and Sunset. High tide and Low Tide alerts, but really I would simply like the option see a simple graph that tells me current and future levels as to plan accordingly. Knowing the tide levels will help safety and assure passage across a beach that is under water during high tide and safety to cross during low.

Again, not looking for comprehensive ocean data points, just a simple tidal graph for safe passage based on current tide levels.

I really hope this is something the development team @ Suunto could make happen. If you need a real world test case, I would be happy to help.

I am not a current Vertical owner, but it is a watch I seriously interested in purchasing. I have a current Garmin Instinct and much to Deak’s point, I don’t need all the surf data, but tidal data is a great help as a surfer and a paddleboarder. Additionally, any surf data now for beaches is a paid service. As I seek to purchase a Vertical here within the next 30 days, I feel it would be a great software update for the watch as a screen users can scroll to get data. It does not need to be a constant on the face of the watch, but like all sport/information options, one at the fingertips.
