Suunto Smart Sensor
-
I am planning to add this sensor but I prefer to ask before I buy it: is the memory function available with the Suunto Run?
Thanks!

Hello,
A friend of mine kindly gave me the opportunity to test it, and unfortunately it does not seem to work. The test was quite simple: I started an activity, left the watch in the car, went to the office, and returned to the car after 15 minutes, stopped the activity, synced the watch and removed the chest strap. As you can see, at that time the heart rate was not stored on/transferred from the sensor!
Am I missing anything?
Thanks!
Side note: I noticed that when using the chest strap, the wrist HR sensor keeps working. Something intended?

@6iovanni probably not supported, not sure if it will
-
@isazi ok, thanks!

@6iovanni
out of curiosity
are you sure the HR strap was correctly paired and working ? did you get the heart icon with strap ? -
Hi @sartoric,
are you sure the HR strap was correctly paired and working ?
yep!
did you get the heart icon with strap ?
yes, I paid attention to see the wings around icon heart. Moreover, I checked that after removing the watch the HR was displayed correctly.
I have ordered the strap (very comfortable) and as soon as it arrives I will recheck and update the post (update: I confirm the behaviour)

I’m surprised, I thought the r-memory function was exactly a smart sensor feature, not a watch function ?
-
@Tieutieu it is a watch-sensor function. Better explained: the sensor has memory and can record, but only Suunto watches can read the data after (apparently Run excluded). Doesn’t work with other brands.

I am curious as to whether there is a significant shift in suuntos plans for the future or just suunto run is intended as a stripped down version of a future watch :
Run (as of its release) comes without zonesense, no S+ and without the ability to post hr memory recorded data -
@thanasis no full idea of Suunto’s plans, but Run is definitely this: A stripped down version of their adventure watches. Smaller price - less features.
At the same time some nice gimmicks made it into this new development.
