[Feature Request S9]: button lock to home screen
-
On my SSS you can lock the buttons with pressing the right lower button. Should work on S9 too?
-
@jthomi he means while not working out
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Oh, okay, its early, first coffee is working in 5…4…3…2…1…
-
@kurko Which wrist do you wear the watch on? On my left wrist I cannot activate the button accidentally, on my right with the buttons toward my shoulder I can see how this might happen. However, I would prefer that we have the entire screen flip over 180° depending on which hand the watch is on so the buttons are always toward the wrist. Would that solve the problem?
-
@Brad_Olwin I have it on my left wrist. No change in position vs earlier spartans or ambits.
The middle button is the issue in “home” screen, pressing that opens menu and first selection is “do not disturb” mode which gets selected by another (accidental wrist) press.Am I really the only one that this happens to? No change in body weight vs. earlier watches
-
Like @Brad_Olwin I where the watch in my left wrist and this never happens to me
-
The back of my hand constantly presses the middle button any time i push on a door, push up onto a bar, sit down in a chair and lean on my arm, lift up my kids… I do like that they are easier to press then the ambits, but it would be nice if we could have the 180deg flip. Depending on what I do I’ll have to switch back and forth between left wrist and right wrist, or wearing face down.

Getting back to this discussion as I realised why this is happening to me and maybe not to all other S9’s: my S9 Baro Titanium has different buttons than S9 in general, which makes the faulty presses happen. Titanium has longer buttons.

@kurko
You are not alone…Though, in my case accidental press occurs by sleeves, gloves, or when left palm is bent at 90 degree up, it has never resulted in activation of DND yet.
However, button locking like one, that can be activated during exercise, would be great (e.g., to lock screen with compass or something like that)…
-
@kolyany4 actually during exercise one can lock the screen and I do, but my issue is normal usage where you cannot. My watch has a evil plan to stay in do not disturb mode by itself…
-
Same issue here, DND activates at least a few times during a regular workday

I have a S9Ti as well and this never occurs in watch mode but likely differences in anatomy…should be implemented to help those that have this issue. Voted. Votes matter…
