      Hello Everyone,

Can the Suunto heart rate belt monitor be used for scuba diving? I’m thinking that, when diving in cold waters, I won’t be able to use the HR sensor from the watch (not even sure if it works underwater!), so using the chest belt for HR might be an option. Maybe better with dry suit to avoid getting wet but not sure if pressure can damage or even break the sensor which isn’t something pleasant to happen during a dive!

      Any thoughts on this topic?

      Thanks,
      Antonio

        Interesting question.
I have never dived with a heart rate monitor but I swim a lot with OWS and in the pool with a heart rate monitor.

I think it can be done but only with the Suunto Heart Rate Belt because Bluetooth does not work underwater. The Suunto sensor has its own internal memory and can work independently with the watch after starting the activity. After finishing, the data is automatically transferred to the watch. If you want to dive with Suunto “OCEAN”, I don’t know because I don’t know this model.

        The only limitation is depth.
According to the manufacturer, the water resistance is up to 30 meters.
