I have seen some discussion about this problem but am I the only one who has constant problems with these things? My Race S is not measuring sleep regularly at all. I have at least one or two days EVERY WEEK where the watch is not measuring sleep. Is this really how the brand is working? I have had Garmin for 5 years and I have NEVER met problems like these. I can’t work with a watch that is this unreliable.

I have the same problem with HR measuring and I think that is the problem I get these sleep measuring gaps too. When I start activity, the green light is flashing so it SHOULD work but it is not, it just suddenly stops. Could someone clarify how long this problem has been going on and how isn’t anything being done with this by the company? I’m so dissappointed if this is how they work and I will be returning my watch if I could just get a hold of they customer support.

P.S. I have also tried to go back to earlier update and it’s not working any better.

@emilia_v Really sorry that you are struggling with your Race S. I too have had issues with sleep tracking in the past. It can be really frustrating.,

A couple things that helped me sort other the problem were.

        1. Wear it on my opposite wrist. I do not know why, but I get much more accurate sleep tracking on my right wrist. I am a side sleeper that moves a lot. I think that this might be contributing to this issue.

        2. I turned off the automatic do not disturb and I turn it on as I get ready to sleep. This has helped a lot as well. Garmin also had intermittent issues with me if I did not toggle sleep mode on and off. Coros has been the only watch that is super accurate at detecting sleep times without any adjustments manually for me.

As for the HRM I love that Suunto has Zone Sense and it requires a ECG HRM so I use that for most workouts, but when I don’t use that I have not had your issue nor have I read that that is a common bug. You can try a soft reset of the watch by pressing in the top button until it restarts. This in my understanding with flash the RAM and can clear out sleep tracking and other issues.

        Hope this helps!

@Stavrogin I think that is really weird and I could try it but it’s no a permanent solution for me, I don’t just want to use watch on my right wrist to be honest…
EDIT: I only now understood you meant when you sleep, I will try this!

I don’t have “automatic not disturb” on, but so just to clarify: do you have the “do not disturb” off when you go to sleep? I’m kinda bad with remembering things so that’s not a permanent solution either…

But I guess my watch is faulty then if this is not a known bug? It’s just really frustrating that the HR measuring stop during activity and I have to start over again. I can’t even do that if I’m doing yoga in a class etc. So guess I have to return the watch, I thought it was a software problem.

I’ve been doing soft reset but I cannot do that every time I get this, I don’t have time for that (like I said I do a lot of group activities and I can’t stand the hassle). Also the soft reset doesn’t get me the sleep information back.

Have you gotten any solutions from Suunto customer support or have you messaged them? I’ve been having problems to even reach them…

@emilia_v non gli ho scritto. Credo sia un problema firmware. Se gli scrivi ti dicono di fare il soft reset.
