I am running into a problem with my Suunto Race S: it has a massive fast battery drain straight from the box so to say.

Initial setup: I have hardly any widgets and such active, only thing I use my watch for is running and some fitness. I want to use HR-measuring 24/7 to get some hold on my rHR

      I have tried several things:

      • running the battery empty and completely recharging it
      • soft reset
      • total reset

Currently the batterydrain is in the range of 12% in 1 hour time, while doing nothing. Display brightness is low, I tried no activities in that hour. Through troubleshooting a bit, the issue seems to lay with the heart rate sensor: when disabled, the drain is just a few percent for a complete day. When enabled I can almost watch the percentage drop live.

Running out of options to try, I wonder if someone else has an idea, besides sending it in for support.

and an update after a run if about 50’: 21% accu consumed. Nothing fancy: just a few interval blocks, no navigation or stuff like that.

and an update: the issue was the watch itself. Got a new one, which works flawlessly. It was not a settings or software issue probably, but hardware
