BUG: Weird / incorrect climb guidance behavior, likely due to incorrect route reversal
-
Today I was doing a race that consisted of three 10 mile loops. The race director provided a GPX course for only one 10 mile loop, so that’s what I was using.
On the first loop everything was working correctly. However on the second and the first loop, on the climb that goes from each loop start/ finish area, the watch notified me about the downhill. When I looked at the climb guidance it was showing that I was at the end of a long downhill. As I kept going further uphill, on the climb guidance it looked like I was moving in reverse getting further from the bottom of downhill. So I suspect the race course was probably reversed. Unfortunately I couldn’t see the blue arrows due to another issue that I also reported because the blue arrows were rendered behind the track from the first loop. Eventually the climb guidance corrected, likely because the course direction corrected. But it took an awfully long time - something like a few minutes and at least 0.25 miles.
I wonder why would the watch reverse the route on the first place? There was never a reason for that. I was always moving on the right direction. Perhaps it decided to reverse the route because I just finished the same route in the previous loop. If true, that is a questionable solution.
In the same race there was a reroute which caused my Race S to go off route. That is understandable. But I noticed that it also reversed the route direction after coming back on route. I am not sure about the first loop, but I noticed that on the second and the third loops.
