I had strange behavior with sleep tracking. I have set 8h sleep time and rest HB to 60. When I woke up for a while last night at 3 AM, rest of a night was treated as a nap, so finally it shows that I slept for about 4h. HB was below 60.
it happened also to me that sometimes the sleep is not properly tracked and I get some part of the night that is marked as nap, once I got 5:30 hr of nap time during the night with no sleep at all. Ever wondered how the nap, sleep and the various sleep states are detected by the software.

My SV watch seems to work as expected since the update… sleep tracking was working last night
but I think it will need some more time to know more?

Swimming in the pool.
New patch and problems with this update.The first problem that appeared was the lack of information about 100-meter laps (markers) despite them being enabled and set.
A friend had a similar situation with information about climbing, which stopped appearing after the update despite them being enabled. The day before, everything worked for her on the old software.Another problem is the recognition of swimming styles has completely fallen apart.
The first activity today was a 1000m freestyle warm-up. SHOCK, the watch detected everything as “BACKWARD”. No kidding! I’ve been swimming for many years with SAmbit3Peak, S9B, SV and I haven’t noticed any problems with recognizing swimming styles, it worked perfectly until today. Of course, the information about 100 meters didn’t work.The next exercise is 20x100mx20s intervals in the medley style. What was going on here?
In short: there were 20 intervals planned, the watch showed 38. Simple math gives a distance of 2000m, but in fact it gave 1500m. A mistake of 500m.The algorithm got totally confused when changing styles and of course it incorrectly interpreted the type of style with the lengths that were supposed to be corrected.
The next exercise is 500m backstroke. It recognized the style but out of the planned 500m it came out to 425m.
The last exercise is 500m freestyle in rows and pullboy. Six lengths out of 20 were freestyle, the remaining 14 lengths were backstroke!
There were still plans for the classic, but my irritation got the better of me (…)Yes, I did a soft reset.

Hi all,
Since the watch update, the wrist heart rate measurement has become completely inaccurate. It is quite low at rest, especially when I am sitting, and in general. Normally, it ranges between 34 and 45 beats per minute. Since this update, we are back to the situation from a few months ago, where the watch regularly displays double the actual value.I also have the impression that this issue occurs during sleep tracking.
Additionally, during my swimming session, the watch counted one extra lap and misidentified the swimming style several times.
Please take the necessary steps to resolve these issues. Thank you.

@Frederick-Rochette 34-45 Ruhepuls? 🤨
-
No problems with my Vertical.

@Sportsfreund
Yes this is my test HR. -
@Frederick-Rochette what is testHR? Is this really your HR? Or what is the meaning of a „testHR“?
-
@Sportsfreund perhaps he means Rest HR

@pavel-samokha while I generally appreciate new firmware that fixes bugs and introduces new features, I kindly ask Suunto to respect my DND settings and not wake me up in the middle of the night at 2:15 to inform me about a new firmware that is available.
Would it be possible to do that? Thanks!
Another hint for future releases:
Please remember my exercise.options like “Auto stop” and “feeling” and all other settings that are always lost after a firmware update.
I really hate this. Thanks! -
@Artus-Diver that is really surprising that your other suunto watch could perfectly recognize styles.
For me and for some other people suunto are really bad in this and always had been.
I mentioned this here:
https://forum.suunto.com/post/129066In my case it is true for both 9PP and Race S.
Saying about new firmware. I have tried it only once by the moment in the swimming pool. Style detection still bad, but it seems there are changes. For example, previously if I kept high pace in breaststroke, the watch recognized it as freestyle. Now it seems recognized it correctly. But on the other hand all other styles - butter back, free - all of them the watch recognized as freestyle with a new firmware.
So at least for me style detection was bad and it is still bad, but differently.
Also I noticed that it takes now much longer time for the watch to calculate the time of the interval. Before it was usually within 5 sec. Now sometimes it felt like 20s.
But I still need to do more tests.

@Sportsfreund
Typing error, I meant resting heart rate -

I can confirm this long lag in showing interval times. It was strange because the data area on the data page had a shorter time when reaching the wall (perhaps from the previous push-off), and then 5 to 10 seconds later it updated to the final time.
Regarding style detection. This seems to be a hard nut to crack to encompass us all… I learnt them in the early 1970s and know that they were quite different from e.g. Johnny Weissmuller’s in the 1920s (yeah, that Tarzan!). Looking at the club swimmers today there are also a few differences, and then comes the ordinary swimstyles handed down from parents, schools or public courses. Possibly we even have National differences - though competition tends to quickly streamline the styles down to what, for the times, are regarded as most efficient.
For me and my style though, this FW was a real success (on a Race S, making sure the Compass is calibrated before the activity since I suspect it is involved - and auto calibration did not work even when e.g. running for an hour). Last night I did freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke. All styles with and without hand paddles, with and without a Pull Buoy. I even did breaststroke with hand paddles and the legs tied down by a rubber band; imagine the quick, tight stroke needed for me to stay afloat and moving forward. And it still was detected as breaststroke! Perhaps the most surprising was a sloppy backstroke trial with both hand paddles and the Pull Buoy. I flailed all over the place (it felt like). No problems. Identified. As was normal unencumbered backstroke lengths.
Tonight I will try a bit of butterfly, even though I’m old and afraid of injury. Perhaps 100 metres medley, to keep it safe…
Edit: Today the Compass got auto-calibrated after the one hour running activity. I am positive that it didn’t work with the previous firmware (I switch the watch off after every workout - unless I have more than one during the day - so have to update basics every time; Time of Day, Altitude and Compass).

@Artus-Diver sorry for your experience, could you share this workout me to DM?
-
Yes, of course.
Is DM Diving Manager?
I have my last exercises (4 exercises) saved only in SuuntoApp and they are swimming in a pool (25m).I am sending 4 files (*.fit) from swimming on the new software attached.
The files are marked as described earlier.
I would like to mention that my friends who are swimmers also have the same problems.
They say that it is impossible to train with this new software and I agree with that.Best regards.

@Artus-Diver DM stands for Direct Message here, but doesn’t matter - thanks for sharing, the issue is under investigation

Of course “direct message”, sorry.

@Artus-Diver I am also having serious accuracy issues with the new update.
Previously the distance was spot on. Now I’m seeing serious underestimates.
For example yesterday I swam 1040m breast-stroke in 20m pool and the watch estimated only 700m. Today I swam 1240m breast-stroke in the same pool and the estimated distance was even lower. Before the update, in the same pool, swimming breast-stroke over the same distances, the watch was perfectly tracking the lengths.
I set the pool distance correctly and I’ve restarted the watch, but no difference.
