Hey, I wanted to provide feedback on turn notifications. I tried to use them while navigating during a few trail runs and think that the current implementation needs some improvements.

Here’s the main issue. A turn notification typically comes about 100 meters before a turn - I typically see it at just under 300 feet. Then shortly before the actual turn another notification pops up that shows a next turn - not the one I am approaching but the following one. That timing could not be any worse! On steep terrain covering 100 meters can easily take a minute or longer, so by the time I come to the turn my brain may already forget what it has seen a minute ago and instead perceive the next turn direction as the current one. This has actually made me make a wrong turn at least a couple of times, and in other cases I had to stop and double check the map.

It would be far more reasonable to show the turn notification 100 meters before, then again just before the turn. Show me where I need to go when I am right at the turn! Also, showing a next turn notification well in advance isn’t helpful. That information should be displayed at the bottom of the map instead.

It is well known that TBT is, as it works now, little or nothing useful. To put it mildly. 🙄

@sky-runner I’ve been harping on this since I first got a Vertical. As @enriqueescoms said, it’s a well known issue and makes the turn-by-turn function pretty much useless. And the solution couldn’t be easier: just give us the info for the current turn, not the next turn (as I’ve written several times before).

The good news is that the mapping experience is pretty great without it, so I just leave it off and simply rely on the map (or use my 955 if I need turn notifications 😜 ).

as of the current aoftware release, the information is displayed at the bottom tooth for TBT mode in every sceeen - at least when I was using it. Notification at the turn is still for the next turn obviously. So half the issue you have is gone, but one part still remains.
