Software update 2.39.20 (2024 Q4)
-
@MiniForklift I recommend you to do a soft reset.
My SVTi has really reduced its consumption to a ridiculous levels (everything off), something like 2% per day without activities. Yesterday I got 1% for one hour GPS and today 2% for one hour with 32 manual laps and 10 auto laps. It is the best battery consumption that I ever have had with the watch and I hope this behaviour lasts for ever.Regarding GPS tracks I’m having the best tracks ever, I usually have excellent tracks but in the last two running activities the tracks have been even better than before, better on turns and on very challenging narrow streets.

I’ve reverted to 2.37.48.
Confirmed my thoughts about the new UI - I prefer the old version. The new setup didn’t scroll smoothly and also shrunk the text of non-selected options for no good reason, making them harder to see.
I’d also rather have functioning OHR/sleep tracking than a Christmas tree watch face.
I do wonder how Suunto can release a update such as this with fundamental faults that disable a primary function of the watch… Is there no Beta testing?
Also no updates on here on likely timing for a fix.How can I do that too? Is it simple or will I die in the attempt?

Damn it. Another 9PP affected more. Today playing paddle tennis this afternoon and in the middle of activity HR has stopped. This has never happened to me before.

Instructions in this post - helpfully linked by @Mff73 further up this thread:

@Sturgis Green has just been added to the bottom of the colour selection list for the accent colour. You can use it with any watch face but it’s the default for the new xmas and new year faces
Ahhh okay, it’s about the additional green accent colour. I didn’t recognized that.
Thank you very much for the info and your help! -
Same OHR issue with my 9PP
Also, I don’t understand the auto calibration on compass, seems nothing auto but same as old Suunto watch (8 movements) … -
@BrunoH I also have the bottom button as a shortcut to the control panel and I had the same issue as you. Even multiple soft resets didn’t resolve the issue. But this fixed it for me:
- Add the control panel as a widget
- Open the control panel via the widget (control panel was displayed correctly)
Since I have opened the control panel via the widget, it is always rendered correctly, even if I open it via the shortcut. Maybe it’s just a coincidence… but also worth a try.

I agree with you, christmast watchfaces are something…stupid. If I need fancy useless thing, then I chose another brand. For me Suunto is simply and reliable. But this update should be released as April 1st update.
Have vertical ti solar, seems lucky one, no issue for me observed. -
@Jiri-Kroutil it just the chinese bling bling - cheap an for nothing
-
I hope next time we don’t get easter watch faces but instead some improvements for structured workouts and other sports oriented features. Vertical, Race (PERFORMANCE WATCH),… are sports watches, right? But to be fair, those watch faces are a lot better designed than 99% of the stuff in the Garmins Connect IQ store.
I am not a 100% fan of the new zoom animation when scrolling through the menus. I think it works well with the widgets, but with the activities list and generally all sub menus (smaller menu items), I have the impression that there is too much movement on the screen.

Exactly. Looks like Suunto doesn’t know its customers.

Thanks for pointing @tmclr…. Another downgraded here.
I’m in general quite benevolent with bugs and just install updates right away, but with this latest one it’s been too much: a daily random soft-reset to restore OHR?
The new menus are great and aside from the issue with OHR the update has been fantastic, though.
See you next update. -
I have also rolled back to 2.37.48 about 24 hrs ago. No problems observed since then, OHR issue is gone and working as intended.
However now the app wants me to install the latest firmware, any ideas how to disable automatic updates? -
@cod3569 how to roll back to old version?
-
@cod3569 in the Suunto App, go to your watch’s page and select the top-right menu (the “gear”). There you should find the option to disable automatic updates.
-
@fv4500 yes but how to install the old one
-
-
@vinc14 This post explains how to downgrade: https://forum.suunto.com/post/148824
If you updated from 2.37.48, you should be able to select 2.37.48 OTA package.
Cheers -
Same trouble with OHR From 4 to 6 hours before hanging.

@thanasis how about battery drain problems and offset, back to normal?
AWU what it is?No offset so far . I did both tracks that previously had offsets and they were spot on this time ! Tracks were spectacularly spot on !!
Battery is better to almost 4% per day
