Interval display
-
I recently bought a race s, coming from a 9 baro. When I’m doing intervals with my new watch the screen turns yellow and shows which rep I’m currently on . That happens every time a new interval or rest starts. It seems like I have to press the crown to close the yellow screen and to come back to my interval display every time. That wasn’t the case with my old watch, which turned the display back automatically after a couple of seconds I think. Is this something I can manage in settings, or is it just the updated interface? Or is it a bug?

@elis001 I guess you’re talking about the built-in intervals on the watch, no functionality has changed there vs your 9 Baro, so seems to be a one-off hopefully. I used them from time to time and haven’t seen that issue on my SRs.

@herlas Exactly. Since my last post I’ve tested it a few more times and sometimes it seems to work and sometimes it doesn’t so I guess there’s some type of bug.

@elis001 do a soft reset of your watch, hold the power button for 12 secs until it restarts, hopefully that will clear any bad cache somewhere.

@elis001 I have also noticed this little bug on my Suunto Vertical.

That‘s a bug that has been there since around the time the Suunto Race has been released. Sometimes those fullscreen notifications like the announcement of the next interval or when you are out of an intensity zone are not closed automatically. They stay open forever, sometimes they even stack so that you have to press multiple times to close all of them and to see your data screens again. Soft reset/hard reset doesn‘t fix it.
This is just my experience (with Vertical, Race, Race S). It doesn‘t happen every time and also the type of activity seems to play a role. During running this happens very rarely. But while cross country skiing I have to close every interval announcement manually. Absolutely annoying.

@wmichi as far as I am aware, interval workouts do not display out of zone warning notifications. Unless something has updated in the last month or two.

@altcmd You are right, intervals don’t notify the user about being out of the target zone (intervals defined on the watch don’t have target zones and structured workouts don’t support this kind of notification). I was referring to the intensity targets you can set on the watch. Those are also full screen notifications. And they also get stuck sometimes and you have to press the middle button to hide them.

@wmichi Maybe one day, maybe one day…
