I went for running on lycabetus hill in Athens this morning and I have some dotted lines on the app which I never have seen before !
Furthermore following a track on the watch I was regularly was shown indications of going off which wasn’t the case . Any ideas ?

(Btw the area is not dense by trees and the location with the dots is either clear skies while me settings were on performance …)

@thanasis in another post, we discovered such dotted lines which seems to correspond to “pauses” (dotted lines between start/end of pause GPS positions).
Do you have auto pause? Or maybe some kind of GPS lost?

@Mff73 thanks . I do have enabled auto start and stop but I also observe some offset in the line to the path . There was no obstacle between the watch and the sky (literally it was clear sky and no trees) . I feel a there is a constant uncertainty lately with how the watch behaves and I observe more frequent gps offsets and errors so it’s either the hardware itself or the firmware …
          Anyway
          Thanks

I am checking again( in quite a disappointment) the offset which happened in the middle of the activity while the start and end are spot on .
This offset also justifies the constant alerting of going off route on the route navigation. . The dotted lines seem to indicate the watch not having proper gps signal despite the rather favourable conditions.

I don’t know if the issue is hardware related but would anyone suggest sending it back or wait for a firmware update ?

@thanasis I think the dotted lines are pauses. (Asking for 100% validation)

Whats is the offset ? Can I see ?

Those are pauses and I suspect that is the culprit for the offsets (although I still wanna check those)

Seems like this (dotted lines for pauses, not for the offset 🙂 ) since “discovered” with SA android 4.97 (or at least implemented in the backend at this period) https://forum.suunto.com/post/153193

the offset happen’s before the dotted line so they are not necessarily related . @Mff73 thanks
