Trying to Like Suunto Vertical Ti Solar
-
@Roberto_m That’s logical reasoning. The author claims that except for the (non-functioning) oHR, the watch does the same thing as his Seiko, apparently forgetting about all the other sensors of his Vertical and its integration with the mobile app.
-
@Roberto_m I’d add that manufacturing in China doesn’t automatically mean low quality. Apple makes iPhones there, so preconceived notions…
-
@iterumtenta
In fact it is Taiwan but it doesn’t change the sense.
Arc’teryx stuff are made in China, partially. I won’t say their products are bad quality. -
@sartoric Taiwan, China, and any country are all capable of high-quality manufacturing. I’m so tired of these widespread stereotypes. People are being racist with impunity, not even realizing how wrong they are. Anyway, thanks for the clarification.

@iterumtenta
Let’s say that also the other pov it’s understandable.
Having marketplaces (real and virtual) flooded with cheap low quality stuff from there, definitely doesn’t help. -
@sartoric OK but jumping to the conclusion that Suunto, which has been making quality products for over 85 years with a strong focus on accuracy, will become a maker of low-quality gadget products just because they are manufactured in China is, excuse me, a bit ridiculous to remain polite.

@iterumtenta This argument has been beaten to death on this forum.
Its not about manufacturing quality, its about european de-industrialization lack of worker safety, less stringent heatlh rules,etc -
@iterumtenta where’s the “race” in the equation?
Looks like we are discussing nationalities at worst, and the Vertical at best.
-
@Jonathan-C yes exactly. The « not realizing it » was spot on. Thanks.

… anyway, considering that the OP never replied and that the discussion derailed, I’m going to lock it.
The OP can open a new thread if needed.
