      I was runing a ultratrail yesterday. The race course was 63.2km with 3600d+, but my Vertical activity was 66.17km with 3500d+. The vertical gain was preety good, but 3 more km I think it’s to much… Do you think it’s a problem from my unit or a software issue?? It’s possible to fix it?
      Thank’s!!!

        @EdCaballer The trail race courses are not always accurate. Also as far as I know Suunto is recording “3D Distance”, so the real distance. Not like it would look like from the top.
        If this is still the case it could be a reason for the difference

          @EdCaballer This could be within expected accuracy for that distance depending on the terrain, although usually my watches are a bit better than that. I assume you probably already had the watch on the best setting for recording.

          In the future, if doing a known route or set course, you could use the Snap to Route feature: https://www.suunto.com/en-ca/Support/Product-support/suunto_vertical/suunto_vertical/recording-an-exercise/navigating-during-exercise/

          This will artificially make sure the distance matches the course.

            If you agree to share the public link to your activity, it helps checking where the track might have gone wrong (e.g when you stopped for food?)

              @jw-cou of course!
              This is my suunto activity https://maps.suunto.com/move/eduardcaballerocostal/670a948714971830775a3b79

              And that’s the oficial track of the race https://es.wikiloc.com/rutas-carrera-por-montana/ultra-utsm-63k-2024-187574993

              You can see the ascent was perfect, but not the distance…
              During the race I have the track on the watch and at the km 40 i can saw it will not match the distance acording the kms left in the track

                  @EdCaballer When I checked some other runners on this course in Strava, I see the results between 64-65km, e.g.:
                  https://www.strava.com/activities/12637957400
                  https://www.strava.com/activities/12639539134
                  which is more than the official version, but less than what you had. It shows however, that it isn’t so easy to get consistent results in such challenging conditions.
                  You can also see that the official route is somewhat simplified. Check out this section close to La Morera de Montsant for example.
