'Liquid Glass' Screen Protection?
-
Someone asked me tonight if I though that a liquid glass screen protector would be suitable for their Race S. I didn’t have an answer. Anyone have any advice? Would it damage the screen in any way, or void the Suunto warranty, or impact the functionality of the touchscreen?
This is the product. Basically, it’s a liquid solution that you put on your phone or tablet, but there’s usually enough solution to do multiple devices (though only one can get registered and covered by the brand’s warranty).
Thanks!

Never used such protection, and any protection on any of my suunto’s. After 3 month of intense use of the SRs, i still don’t get why people want to put a protection. Screen is very solid.
I wouldn’t try such a protection, fearing to loose touchability of screen and probably also warranty -
@Tieutieu I kinda disagree, from my experience, anything that is not sapphire will get scratched at one point, glass is just too soft against rocks and sand.
the glass being flat instead of domed on some watch means that it will not happen as often, but there is no lip/recess. -
There is a wide choice of thin screen protectors (e.g. Savvies) that preserve the touchiness and shouldn’t cause any problem to the warranty, since they can be put on the screen and removed easily, at least this is what I have read. However, didn’t test by myself.
The need of a screen protection is proportional to the probability to hit the watch somewhere, it depends on what kind of activity you do, rock climbing for example is quite risky for a wristwatch.
