Media control

Found a possible soloution.
@mermaid are you using apple or android?
Always when i tried media contol, it was never worked, always greyed out.
Tryed to stop app, wont work. All rights in the app are given, Android in my case.What i did:
Stop app from running in background, go to suunto app permitions and DENY permition for Media/Audio.
Start app, stop after a short while and go back to Media/Audio, grant authorization again.
After that it was working well.@isazi Maybe this thread should be moved to software, this is not a issue on hardware/firmware side.
It´s more related to App rights management, not? -
@isazi yes. It was working for a while and then suddenly stopped. You name it I’ve done it and nothing works
-
@Reiner I will try, but really for the amount of money this cost these issues shouldn’t be happening. How do I move it to software
-
@Reiner tried and that doesn’t work either
-
@mermaid
except the cost of the watch you are complaining (bugs are not related to price, and price (for the ocean is surely due to serious dive features/build/testing, etc… and not media control), but bugs are annoying for anyone :
Did you check if media control is working (or not) if accessed directly from the full widget list (scroll down) and not from the top button shortcut ? It seems that your problem is “solved” while removing the shortcut and resetting it, maybe worth checking the normal widget also? -
@Mff73 if you buy a product with features then you expect all of them to work. Of course I realise the price is high because it incorporates a dive computer, this is what I wanted alongside ALL the other features. You’re paying for EVERYTHING so I expect everything to be working. Yes I have tried the media control as the normal widget and not the top shortcut. Nothing works.
-
@mermaid update - Suunto are aware and they think it is a bug. It’s doing the same thing to one of their guys

@mermaid said in Media control:

You’re paying for EVERYTHING so I expect everything to be working.I agree with you, it’s frustrating for sure that some features of a new product you buy don’t work as expected, or don’t work at all.
The problem is that every kind of software (for example PC operative systems, but also smartphones, etc …) is nowadays sold “as-it-is”, which means that is not bug free. From the user point of view that’s bad, on the other hand, we have to think about the fact that put on the market a virtually bug free software would require a lot of time and resources, and that will make the final cost to raise significantly. Also the maintenance, the improvements and the introduction of new features would be much slower and - again - costly. So, at the end, it’s a matter of balance between functionality, developing times and costs. -
@Stefano-M64 if that is the case then it should be sold with that information so customers will be aware in advance that what they are paying for is an item that has a list aof functions that you may or may not have access to. Paying for functions you are unable to use. Purchases would soon drop though if you did that.

I would recommend to install and connect suunto app on a another device for testing this issue.
Maybe the expensive bad bug suunto isn’t the reason for this issue.
Its not impossible that your current device is blocking there somehow…There are so much different devices, with different kind of software on the market, no company, no developer on this world is able to proof all this variances. Developers need feedback from custumer side if something not running good…
