      Re: Vertical screen burn-in?
I used Suunto vertical titanium for running& swimming in September 2023. After 2 months, I see black circle around the screen. I went to service center in Thailand , changed the new one. Then I used them until August 2024, the black circle happens again. I swim everyday in swimming pool 2hrs/day. I press start /stop button beneath the water .I take a shower after swimming with my watch. Is it water leakage or defect ?

It is not solar circle . It is black shadow on the white screen.

@PoonsupT just guessing, were the watches exposed to extreme heat, like in the sauna?

I ‘ ve never used my watch exposed to the heat such as charging solar exposed to direct sunlight. I used Ambit 3 peak for 7 years , never has this problem. Service center in Thailand told me that ambit 3 peak is one component (only one seal encapsulation) . While vertical is 3 components ( 3 seals).
I ‘m not sure water may be leaked from heart rate sensor component.

@PoonsupT That may be a backlight issue, I think nothing to do with solar or heat. You might try adjusting the backlight or turning it on and see what happens. I do not see a shadow on my screen as you show.

@Brad_Olwin if the artifact is visible in bright sunlight, it might be related to polarization, which MIP displays rely on.

Today,I test my new changed watch 29 Aug 2024. There is no different between high vs. low vs no back light.
Base on my experience, the black circle appears 2 months, getting darker after 6 months. I will check again after using 2months.
                    Thank for all suggestion.
