Since I have the Race, I have had big problems detecting the time I go to sleep which is always delayed by one or two hours. By correlation, I never have nap detection either, unless I take a really long nap.

We see that my average sleep start time is at 2 hours which is much later than reality, and therefore my sleep duration is also distorted. Note that I can have quite restless sleep and that I have a little sleep apnea (without a device).

Last week, it detected falling asleep twice at more than 3 a.m. which is not at all the reality, even if those were nights when I slept poorly. Surprisingly on one night it detected falling asleep before midnight which is quite close to reality. We even see one night where I slept really badly because of the heat which was detected as only two naps.

Here is the sleep detected data last night, knowing that I was in bed at 12:45 a.m., I turned off the light at 1 a.m. and must have fallen asleep within the next 5 minutes.

As read on other forum topics, I have tried several settings of my resting heart rate (currently at 60bpm, but also tested at 40, 45 or 50 bpm) without success.

I had the 9 Peak before, and without being perfect, the sleep detection was still more realistic.

Did you find a way to make it work ?
I have the same issue with Race S.
I have it for a month now, and except on two times, it always detects my start sleep time 2/3 hours later than reality (turn off lights at 11PM and it says I fell asleep at 2/3AM …)

It is not a big deal as I rather trust my sensations than the watch but due to that, recovery stats are bad and other metrics are impacted…

@wzxecr You can try to update the firmware. I use the newest firmware 2.43.8, it was stable.

@IceRim I did but unfortunately same issue (yesterday and this night)
For example this night it reports

              • falling asleep : 3AM (turned off light at 11PM)
              • wakeup : 7AM (accurate)
              • nap detected : between 1h - 1h42 (AM)

Will try to change some params to see (rest HR or sleep target)

Yesterday (firmware 2.43.8) almost all was incorrect
Start/end sleep time and even the sleep duration seemed incorrect

Same truble in my case. After the latest update the time of fall a sleep is inaccurate. Basically in average i “loose” one hour. I didn’t repply from the first days, maybe it was an issue on my side, but after feww weeks I can say that is not ok. The previous firmware was quite accurate.

I’m struggling with the same. My Race is missing some sleep each night after the update. It was rock solid before.

Previously used: Cyclosport HAC4, Polar S710, Ambit 2S, Ambit 3S, SSU, S5P, S9P Ti. Currently using: Race Ti.

                    Just forget about sleep tracking.

By now it is very clear that it doesn’t work and causes more stress (about wrong data!) than benefits (there are several articles from sleep experts warning for this).

Manufacturers just don’t know any real improvements and keep adding gimmicks to watches.

Too bad they don’t spend time on easy fixes. If I read the forums here, everybody wants more configuration options. Either about alarms, beeps/vibrations or the way the scroll wheel works.

@elbee Ragarding request of more or less important feature, these it should already exist, like alarms when you reach some threshold or “volume” for sound or vibration, etc. Not to be requested like oaau this something not done by now or competition. These are so simple at implementation level and it should be the base of the watch.
When it is about features like slepp, sport app, masurements, way to display it here it should be the topics in the forum not simple features.
What I do observed is that in many cases the clinets are testing the software not suunto.

                        @deliu-b

I work 4 days a week. I cannot set a reoccurring alarm for 4 days. I cannot set a reoccurring alarm for every saterday (to go to parkrun)
I cannot set vibrating alarms in watch mode and beeps and vibrating in sport mode.
I cannot choose which datafields to show on the lap screen.
In navigation mode, after a tbt alert, the watch now shows distance to the finish and used to be distance to next turn. I don’t mind they changing things, but make it optional.
I cannot set gps accuracy on lower setting without also disabling maps.

To name a few configuration options that are missing.
