After an injury my right leg is not as strong as my left and I want to monitor my running balance. The posiibilities I found:

      • Buy a Garmin (seems to be the solution to a lot of topics…)
      • Buy a Coros plus Pod
      • Buy a Wahoo Rival plus Tickr X (!!!)
      • Buy Sensorun Sensors ( only available in Germany)
      • If I want to use Suunto: Buy Stryd Duo

The Suunto way is the most expensive with 340€ plus 120€ membership. I can get a Garmin 745 plus RD Pod for 300€ or a Wahoo Rival plus TickrX for 180€.

Do I really need to leave Suunto to get GCT Balance?

@VoiGAS If I am not mistaken Garmin HR Pro syncs with the app and provides these without watch. But you still need connect app.
The Running Dynamics is the only thing I miss too from the Garmin ecosystem, but I have stryd duo so all is fine.
Instead of getting older Garmin and pod you can get newer that has these metrics without external sensor. Example FR 265. Not sure about the 165.

Suunto watches: Ocean (Sand), Race (Titanium Charcoal), Vertical (Titanium Solar Sand), 9 Baro (Ambassador Edition), Spartan Ultra (Copper Edition), Ambit 2, S6

@EzioAuditore Thank you, yes I think it should work with the HRM Pro and the app - but only after the training, not live. I would like the posiibility to react to the values e.g. on a treadmill.
I guess with the TickerX and Wahoo App it should work live, but I’m not sure…
For metrics from the Wrist: Isn’t GCT Balance missing here, because it needs a central position on the body? I guess thats the reason why Stryd needs two pods

@EzioAuditore Do you have GCT Balance live, when running with the Suunto Plus App? I found no Screenshot with the L/R Balance data field

@VoiGAS No i don’t. When running with Stryd i connect it with the AWU and run with both watches.

@EzioAuditore Such a pity. Looks like Garmin or Coros then - the Wahoo TickrX seems to be sold out in europe 😕

@VoiGAS The TICKR X is no longer sold as far as I’m aware. Just the TRACKR HR and TICKR FIT, both of which have no such functionality.

Update for anyone interested: Now the Suunto Run is the cheapest way to get GCT Balance.

@VoiGAS I’m curious if having a device that helps monitoring GCT balance has helped you making adjustments when you run.
From what I know the Suunto belt should provide this information, too. I’ve been using a Garmin HRM Pro for years but I could never see running dynamics as they’re only displayed when the belt is used with a Garmin watch, which I don’t have. And that’s fine. 😁

@Francesco-Pagano Yes, I bought SensoRun Sensors, but they are not very easy to use. Only works with native app and the values are somehow strange. No GCT Balance there, but at least I could compare stride length left and right. That helped me monitoring my improvements, stride length is nearly equal now.
But what my right leg is missing is the stiffness / bouncing capability. I had hopes to monitor this difference with the Ground Contact Time measurement
