Suunto 9 Baro (S9B) frozen in boot mode
-
I have this S9B for almost 2 years now, I brought this suunto because I am a landscape hobby photographer who sometimes trek through some hard paths over the mountains to get where I want. I never ever had a single problem with it until now.
Yesterday I spent the day by the pool breaking away a little this hot weather in northern Italy, and when I was leaving I noted that my S9B was on boot mode. I sought a solution online and found these two posts:

https://forum.suunto.com/topic/5546/suunto-9-baro-display-is-frozen-in-boot-mode-display-shows-a-downward-facing-arrow-arrow-down-symbol-soft-hard-reset-won-t-fix-oh-and-it-s-race-week-ugh?lang=en-US
From where I have tried all proposed fixing without success so far.
Does anyone have a clue about effective solution? Jul, 2024, does it really worth to send the watch to Suunto to be fixed (postage+repair) considering its today’s price (€ 299), even because someone already reported this issue wasn’t kind of properly fixed once by Suunto.

Of course, I am just trying to save money, time and stress … just like most people in here, normally when we buy these things they are not that cheap.
I really appreciate if anyone could give any insight of a possible fixing to this issue. -
@gcolli when the watch misbehave this way, contact support, especially when you watch is still under warranty.

Tks @isazi
I was kind of trying to avoid contacting Suunto support, even because my watch is not under warranty anymore, but maybe this would be the best solution.
Anyway, tks so much for replying. -
@gcolli you can try to reset the watch to factory with Suuntolink and see if it works, but if the watch is faulty there is no reboot or software change that will fix it

If Suuntolink cannot connect to the watch, wait until the watch battery is empty, that is, the screen goes blank. Then connect it to a charger or the computer/Suuntolink. For me this worked with my Spartan Ultra, it started normal again.
