What sport mode is missing from our watches in your opinion?

@Ars-Vitae there is actually a motorsport activity already

Scooter

Iâd like to see a sport mode for 24hr loop races (backyard ultras, Endure24, Equinox24 etc.) where there are significant stopping periods and repeated loops of the same course. I can see some cool options for auto start/stop of a loop based on gps and pace (after youâve done the first loop) as well as a display showing how the current loop is going compared to previous loops. Also, auto-switching to low power gps once a rest period was detected in order to save battery and a rest timer. Possibly even the ability to stop and then resume a workout - when you select the mode it could offer to extend a previously logged workout completed within the last 12 hours, for instance.

I miss efficient way to create my custom sport mode generally. I think if Suunto work on this feature a bit it would solve lots of requests above.
Or at least ability tag TAG your activity automatically based on custom sport mode you are executing: See here

@stromdiddily Yes please +1 for Rucking

How about gardeningâŚ? I know itâs not a sport, but itâs proper physical exercise. Man, sometimes itâs can be taxing.
-
Guys I created this feature request. I think it can help lots of you waiting for new sport mode.
-
@jsuarez my partner would agree with you, makes me think of the lawn mowing activities people upload to Strava.
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Not to knock ANY of some of the suggestions here, as looks like itâs a complete brainstorming exercise, would it be possible for someone to define what some here consider a âsportâ activity is?
Dictionary.com defines sport as âan athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowessâ.
Or:
ââŚa contest or game in which people do certain physical activities according to a specific set of rules and compete against each other.â

Cross Country Skiing is a must for a finish company. I know the sport mode exists, but it should really have some unique metrics.
Garmin has something special for XC Skiing -
@VoiGAS power: they show power in XC skiing, have for a while. They were very proud of it. No idea if itâs useful, though: my feet are too wide for any XC ski boots Iâve seen.
-
@Ze-Stuart Really? How? With wrist power or Stryd? Do you have more information on it or a source?
-
@VoiGAS they calculate XC power using the accelerometers in their chest straps, I believe.

@Ze-Stuart I found it completely useless when I tried it. There wasnât even a possibility to set the power zones at this time (FR 945, this might have changed in the meantime). Maybe it makes sense if you are just double poling. But with diagonal strides and skating⌠I donât know. HR/RPE works better in my opinion.
On topic: Maybe different activity profiles for classic and skating would be beneficial (also for roller skiing)? But differentiation with tags already works pretty well.
-
@Ze-Stuart Ahhh, I thought Suunto did it. Yes, I know Garmin is doing something special in the XC Ski mode, but I really think this should be Suunto terrain. Like diving, where Suunto was clearly ahead. At least they did catch up with the ocean for scuba.
Next: Nordic Sports. What about a Biathlon Multisport Mode? -
Track please, with options to select which lane youâre in.

Pickle Ball

Yeah, youâre right, my bad, I wasnât precise. But still missing some water motorsports.

Snorkeling for all baro watch.
i just realized i have to dig out from somewhere my super old suunto core from 2012, which measured depth because my suunto baro from 2018 does not provide this metric.
-
@wargrider all baro watches have that.
