Firmware downgrade to 2.33.16.1
-
@dreamer_ @Tieutieu @Łukasz-Szmigiel only so far --> someone asked here in this Forum how to downgrade Here is the answer. I for myself would never downgrade love the new climbing guide option and for me the Display and key locking function is great ️ but it seems that some people dont Like the complication Option… And here was a question how to downgrade
-
@dreamer_ excellent synopsis ️
-
@dreamer_ Battery drain or very inaccurate battery meter is a way more important reason to downgrade! I don’t really care about the new vs old watch faces/complications, but I wouldn’t call losing 50% of battery in 4 days with the watch sitting idle in a drawer “far better”
-
@Fwinns my battery seems fine. How many users are experiencing that problem? Perhaps a soft reset will fix that issue or there’s something with that specific unit.
-
@Fwinns you are right!!!
-
@dreamer_ @Fwinns 🥴mine is fine, mine is fine too. But if you read some Posts about battery drain after the update i have to fully agree that everyday you can read 1new Post here or a comment about the battery drain… That seems like a really Problem after the update.and take a closer look who says mine battery is fine… You will know what i mean
-
I was concerned also by slightly higher battery drain, but not afraid : like everyone says on replies about that issue, after a full new circle the battery recalibrates.
-
@Tieutieu would be the best thing
-
@Tieutieu Mine went down to 23% indicated, I charged it back up to full, and still got a 10% loss the next day. I didn’t want to wait until the watch turned off by itself before recharging to do a “full loop”, it would probably have happened during a training session or a race.
And yes I did do a soft reset before charging it back up.
Downgrading and awaiting a more official reply/update/fix from Suunto is the sensible thing to do. -
@dreamer_ I think the battery is fine, it seems to be software related. Either there is a real battery drain (GPS always on, things like that), or the battery meter is way off/buggy. But lots of things are linked to the battery level, like the anoying “charge your watch” when it goes below 25%, or the automatic mode change when it goes below 10% and it thinks you won’t be able to finish a session, things like that

@GiPFELKiND I did this once, here is just a small warning - If anyone does this, make sure to do a factory reset after the FW downgrade. My watch almost bricked itself few days after doing this.
-
@GiPFELKiND Thanks for the instructions. It helped me get the heart rate measurement working again on the 9PP. And I don’t miss any of the latest updates
