Suunto Race S general discussion

@Egika no, you confused the cause and the consequence!
-
@isazi GREAT NEWS
-
quick one: did the lugs of the race S have rounded angles (like the Ocean) I found the one of the Race a bit sharp and as Ocean change this a bit I wonder to know if RaceS also benefit of this ?
-
@Josaiplu for me Ocean ans Race are the same But Race S is smaller and lighter, so it may feel more comfortable.
-
@isazi thanks my wife does not feel the s9pp uncomfortable so I guess she will enjoy the race s
As the race s as plastics lugs I was thinking they could be less « sharp »
-
@Josaiplu they are not sharp, but my Race (not S) is not sharp either. S9PP is sharper I would say.
-
@isazi you re right regarding s9pp
Also did the improvements on the fw responsiveness reduce the raise to wake delay a little bit ? It is currently almost a second between the movement and the display being visible, still the same on the s ?
-
@isazi and other testers, can you comment on the changes to navigation and turn-by-turn? I see the turn notifications have shrunk, but what about the timing? Is it still the same that the next turn is notified while at the current turn?
-
@isazi once you configure the watchface, are the complications changing when you press on them like now or no? Thanks.
-
@EzioAuditore no, they are fixed once you configure them.
-
Do you know if the purchase is possible, on the FR store, it is impossible to place an order?
On some tests, Youtubers evoke a titanium model and even indicate the weight, answers?
Thanks
-
@ADidier Wait a few days/weeks for availability
For titanium not before Q3 and still gorilla glass (no sapphire) see https://the5krunner.com/2024/06/25/suunto-race-s-review/ -
Can anyone confirm whether itβs possible to see the remaining descent for a route on the Race S? The Race removed the custom battery mode that allowed the touchscreen to be on for activities, and that also removed the ability to tap the elevation screen to toggle between remaining ascent and descent. The result is that the Race has no way of seeing remaining descent, which seems like a huge oversight. Has this been returned with the Race S or the new firmware thatβs coming?

@Brad_Olwin Thanks, I believe you, no images needed
I should add both screens are the same resolution 466x466 so the Race S being smaller appears sharper.
-
Now the price for Hungary far more better.
But that wonβt be a good business for Suunto, I guess.13598 HUF, which is about 35 EUR
Just for sure -
@kamarasm They are struggling with zeros I guess
-
@logger the new route altitude profile shows remaining ascent during ascent and remaining descent during descent (in the zoomed profile)

The complication design is constrained by the watch face (some are round, some are rectangles, and so on), but it works very well.
Once confirmed the complications if you tap on any they do not change, right?
Oops sorry I just found out that it was asked and answered earlier. In a video I saw that you can also leave the complication blank. Great!

correct. the circular changing by tapping is gone with the full customisation.
