Suunto Race S general discussion
-
At my wake up, today, my new Race S is entering in the boot loop.
I can’t restart with older upper button. Just accces to service mode with long press the upper and the crown button. It’s my first bug since 10 years of wearing Suunto watches
-
I also watched some of the review videos of Suunto Race S, and it seems on those they also scroll the wheel with ease and with one finger. strange. On my watch only possible with two fingers on the crown and that way the “upper finger” nail hits a bit on the wrist. Because for a good grip on the crown, other finger must go a bit under the button…
How about e.g. @Brad_Olwin or @Egika should it be extra stiff or same kind of experience that Suunto Race has?
Edit: …and also if watch turned off and wheel scrolled: I can hear a little rustle sound there. Other way a little smoother, and other way a more screech sound there. Not bad but anyway…"
Update on this: got money back from the original purchase and ordered a new one. The new watch works as it should, crown very smooth. So this issue was a failure on the button, not a feature.

@Mi_chael this usually is not a loop.
The watch will come back to operation, even if it takes time.
Did your’s restart and go into this screen many times in a row? -
-
@Mi_chael wow
-
Do you know how long the battery drain in this state ?
I can’t reboot with 12s upper button.
Is there a way to access in the service mode ?
-
@Mi_chael can you PM me?

in the one I have the crown can be rotate with one finger with ease, it’s just a bit more stiff than the crown of my Race

Received the race s in pink and didn’t like the colour in reality so going to send it back. I now can’t decide whether to order it in black or get the normal race in purple.
Are both watches completely the same except the size?
-
@Bexs2247 race s gorilla glass, made in Finland, 32gb of memory and better wrist sensor.
Race sapphire glass, made in China, 16GB for steel versions -
@MeazzaS9 thanks. What about the software and everything they do? Any major differences there
-
@Bexs2247 100% same firmware and functionalities
-
@Bexs2247 a bigger battery in the Race
-
And new altimeter in Race S (but is very good in the Race too). The only real difference that can be important is the tracking on openwater swimming. The Race has bad reports but the Race S has good ones. Don’t know after the latest update if that has been fixed for the Race.
-
@Bexs2247 What did you not like about the color? Thinking of buying it for the wife? What is the bezel color like? Does it have any golden tint to it?

Hello everyone.
I purchased a Suunto Race S last week.
And i am no lucky boy, sadly.
It’s the first time since more ten years of wearing Suunto watch with no issues.
But …
My Race S is entering in boot loop.
I tried to soft reboot with no chance. I tried to shut down the battery to 0% with no chance. I tried to downgrade the firmware with no chance.
If someone have a the solution to solve it, thank you !
-
@Mi_chael as said in private message, if this happens more than one time, please contact support. They will replace the watch.
-
Yes, thank you !
I’m waiting the opening time. It’s just to inform the community, no worries !
-
@Ketoohs the pink strap was a bit of a wishy washy pink. The bezel was silver but kind of felt a bit cheap? I’m used to my Apple Watch I guess.
Why I’m thinking of either getting the black one or trying the race in the titanium version
-
The bezel is the same than the Powder Gray.
It’s gold
