      Hi!

I mainly looking for edc watch with some outdoor activity capabilities.
Is all black version to heavy for edc use? I am coming from s9pp and worried it would be to heavy/annoying on my wrist?
Also dont see point of solar since i mostly cover my watch so solar for me would have limited use only in summer time.
The new race s seems appealing but dont like the idea of plastic body and gorilla glass.

Thanks for input and your thoughts.

@krakra I went from a 9 peak to the Vertical solar and was quite happy. The Vertical screen is easier on my eyes, both in clarity and size, the 9 Peak screen looked washed out for me. Fit wise is good for me as well as it doesn’t sit too tall and hang up on my shirt sleeves like the Baro I had.

If you have a store where you can try one, i would suggest it as some people complain about the lugs digging into their wrists, for me that wasn’t an issue.

One thing I did change on mine was the strap as the retaining button at the end put pressure on my inner part of my wrist when I rested my arm down on my desk. Once I changed that over the fit and comfort was perfect for me. Love the fact the battery lasts weeks between charges and the build quality is amazing,

Seems like Vertical Steel is perfect choice for You if You gonna cover watch under shirt + no need solar. I moved from S9PP to Suunto Vertical Titanum Solar and iam happy, much improvement, much more comfortable to read and wear (even if its bigger than peak). Steel vs. Titanum = 74g vs 86g. I dont know if that “much” weight makes difference.

Before smartwatches/sport watches I’ve had wear Casio MDV-106 which is 92g + i used some steel braclet. It was a bit heavy, but in total probably it was like 2x Verticals.

@krakra I would wait a few more days until the Race S comes out, so that you have another choice…
…ok sorry you do not want it (but 60g and gorilla glass are very attractive to me, the latter would mean better readability than sapphire)

@krakra I received on Monday the SV, and I opted for the titanium solar.

Like you, I came from an S9PP (which will be used as a secondary watch or daily wearable).

Personally if you stay a lot outdoors (multiday hikes, ultras, etc…) and need the extra juice from the solar energy its the best otherwise the base model is really still impressive.

I choosed the Ti Solar in order to:

              • Not to think too much about the battery
              • Take advantage of the sunny days where I live which are a lot
              • Take advantage of the maps to follow and explore new routes
              • Bigger screen to evaluate data and decisions on the go

These are my two cents, hope you found them useful 🙂

I’m super happy with my SV Titanium Solar, but not sure the weight makes a real difference.

For the solar, I like the fact I can go on a holiday and forget the charger: I was leaving, forgot to charge during the day, plugged in the charger while packing, battery went to 80%, drove for 4h in the sun… 98% battery at the very beginning of the holiday. Great! 😁

I choose the TI for many reasons already mentioned, but also because I like the grey titanium color much more than black version.
I wear it h24 since it was released, fits sport and casual !

@Tieutieu said in Vertical all black or titanium:

                    I second that 😁
