@ilstrup I know that Ray is himself a recreational diver, so I hope he will post a review when (and if) he has some time to test it. Devices are being sold, but availability is still low.

@isazi He’s (was) in Zakintos these days… So maybe some scuba in the Ionian would soon show up Although lately I do not trust everything he says cause he’s critical of everything non Garmin (even appraising Apple that IMO is far from being full blown sports watch).

@ilstrup Based on comments on his Suunto Race S review video, it seems Suunto did try to send DCR a Suunto Ocean to review, but it got lost somewhere in the mail while on the way to him in Greece.
He said he’d do the review “eventually”. ️
This wait for a review has been very frustrating for me. I think I’ve watched every English-language Suunto Ocean video on YouTube by now (and a few non-English ones) excluding those that are obviously re-uploads of Suunto’s marketing. To no avail.
All I’ve found so far are unboxing videos, first impressions (some actually insightful), clickbait, and pure unadulterated marketing fluff. No reviews.

Best unboxing

Finally, a review that gets the watch wet, and the reviewer promised a head-to-head comparison and a look at the app next week. No freediving stuff though, but for myself, I’ll be taking mine on its first freedive this weekend.

Another review. Great display, but still requires features and screen updates.
