Suunto Ocean general discussion
-
@surfboomerang Dive devices pass special testing, and there are special standards for it, like EN 13319:2000.

Does anybody know how to create new activity with custom fields on Ocean, this was always inside App but i can not find it there now?
-
I am so tempted by the Suunto Ocean. It is so beautiful. On the other hand the upcoming firmware update for Race and Vertical are also super intriguing. Now: Difficult question: When can we expect a similar software update for the Ocean? Someone already mentioned definitely later then Race and Vertical and less frequent.
-
@Patrick-Löffler-0 we can expect the Ocean getting some (all?) of the Race features, but not sure when. A quarterly release cycle for this watch is probably not happening.
-
@isazi Thanks for your fast answer. Still. Such a great looking watch!
-
Will the new tides watchface complication be an Ocean exclusive or with that be coming to other watches in the update? It looks very well designed!
-
@deserthike20 I do not have that, maybe it’s a future feature.
-
I’ve noticed in pics that the Ocean looks pretty big and thick on some wrists. Understandably the pics are usually over a wetsuit… The specs show its actually thinner than the vertical and only 1 mm bigger. With a regular strap how does it fit in real life compared to the Vertical? Does it fit much larger?
-
I had the same issue and it was resolved by updating the Suunto app!
-
God dammit! Suunto makes soo good looking sport watches, and Ocean is even more good looking than the Vertical.
-
@Iggge I agree, first time I saw the Ocean I was in love with the design, such a beautiful watch
-
@isazi do you know if it has blood oxygen measurements as the Race, SV? I couldn’t find it on the web. Thanks.

-
@Brad_Olwin thanks a lot. Well I guess I’ll be getting one for my summer dives it will pair nicely with the rest: everyday Race, mountains Vertical, waters Ocean it will pair nicely with the rest: everyday Race, mountains Vertical, waters Ocean
 Talk about supporting Suunto

@EzioAuditore Good to hear. I’ve done extensive exercise testing with the ocean and it matches with Race and Vertical well. I did find using a Velcro band for running gave much better OHR. I have not done dive testing.
-
@Brad_Olwin cool thanks a lot. I always use belt when running. OHR works fine for hike, bike and yoga/core/pilates.
-
@isazi Ordered mine since I’ll be spending quality time near sea this year but pool dive training too for more serious diving not only freestyle… One question: The led on the right side is showing what exactly? I couldn’t find anything in the manual or was reading it too fast and didn’t see it. Tank pod connectivity? Does it change colour? Thanks.
-
@EzioAuditore on my watch it is not a led, it is a, how do you call that, paint that you see in the dark? To find your watch in the darkness. This is what I know about that (I may be wrong, I never used the watch underwater).
-
@isazi aa ok I think it is fluorescence. Thanks. It looked quite a lot like a LED I think it is fluorescence. Thanks. It looked quite a lot like a LED
