For me it’s a dissapointing update.

        1. High contrast map, (in my case) goes to Dark mode, It’s useless without details, except roads. Light mode is much more usefull…and again…on the handlebar with MTB or cycling it’s dimmed again after some time. Also other data fields. No matter if screen is set to Always on. For God sake Suunto. You make cyclig dangerous when you need to press or rotate crown constantly to see map and other data!!!
        2. Sleep tracking improvement is still disaster, even worse.
        3. OHR improvements does nothing. Eratic spikes with comute walking up to 130 bmp.
        4. New Watch faces are made for kindergarten homework?
        5. No Vo2 max after a 30 min walk (HR zone Z1, Z2).

These are briefly my observations after a day of use with new fw and my personal opinion!

This made my day … 😁

I miss a watchface on the Vertical with the barometric pressure as complication. On my S9PP there is at least one with this information.

As outdoor watch, which I use often without recording an activity on a walk, there should be a watch face with time, barometric pressure, altitude and sunset. Choosable as shown complications.

@ppresing It’s funny because my experience is totally different with the Vertical so it’s probably a very subjective matter. The sleep tracking is spot on and the OHR seems to be more stable since the update (could a placebo:)).
Regarding the usage on the bike - and all other similar cases, that’s one of the reasons I don’t want an AMOLED display yet.

@ppresing by the way I don’t understand that you want a vo2 max value from the 30 minute walk. I mean - are you sure you know what the value represents (and what doesn’t)?

@Zdeněk-Hruška Then manuals should point exact on Running based activity with specific hr zones used. Not walking included as they say! When Vo2 max is registered on the watch, you’ll get completely different and more real Calorie consumption as without it!

@Zdeněk-Hruška Screen illumination should be customizable for every activity type! No big deal. Always on/off switch for dysplay in pretraining mode wouldn’t be so difficult?

@ppresing ok, so maybe your one walk just didn’t meet some conditions to calculate the number. Could be a bug but I would wait for more activities being you. If there was a vo2 max value calculated based on 30 minute walk I wouldn’t take it too seriously anyway

@ppresing Amoled display cannot use at maximum brightness for long period… apart from draining battery it will result in screen burn in, Race simply cannot be used on the handlebar as Epix and other amoled devices.

                        @isazi I think it’s a known problem. And I think @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos confirmed it. https://forum.suunto.com/topic/8879/battery-drain/167

Not sure if this was already reported (can’t find with search) but I’ve noticed it again yesterday (and still there after the update) a bug with multiple apps enabled for an activity.

The switch is always “off” even if the App is selected
Could it be the aero decoupling one or just the first one in the list ? The other seems to work as expected

EDIT: Just tested removing aero dec. and found It’s the first of the list

The same is true for me as well and I confirm that it only affects the first item in the list.

I’ve searched the forum and this was already a known issue…
the screen does not go to sleep (blank) after a period of inactivity, S9PP.

About Emojis and notifications, They are still very basic from a huge list, no color, etc.
And fonst are too small! At least for incoming calls should appear large numers and fonts as for example…when you pair Race with mobile app you get Passkey with large and nice readable numbers!

@ppresing this is tier 1 of emoji update. It’ll get better eventually. As of why it takes so long - I suspect it’s because of utf8 related stuff and support for wide variety of languages which isn’t simple to implement if it wasn’t done at the very beginning.

With vo2max - I have a problem with how it’s implemented since I had my S5. I don’t know what’s the reason it’s being pushed for each walking (green) activity by default. It really should be user dependent in the same way as backlight, navigation or media controls are.

Watch faces - just leave the default collection and let users decide what’s inside the data fields. I’d like to have a current temperature as well as the barometric trend. I can’t do that because both are on the same data field, for some strange reason.

est ce que ceux qui ont (comme moi ) des problèmes de calcul de seuil lactique ont pu tester? faut il de nouvelles activités enregistrées pour déclencher le calcul?

I totally agree. New watchfaces totally useless and still no one with barometric pressure trend. I often use the vertical in the same way you describe and simply don’t understand why they can’t make a watchface fot that. On my 20years old vector I can have it…

@gilou Je pense qu’il faut refaire les 3 activités minimum pour l’estimation de seui lactique …

I was hoping that the OHR tracking would be improved but this is not the case.
I’ve been sitting in the office for several minutes now, and when I take my heart rate with my fingers + stopwatch, it’s 36 beats, whereas it says 87 on the screen… I have to wait a while for it to become consistent with reality…
There’s still work to be done for the SUUNTO bug😵
