Structured Intervals - screen for swimming in the pool.
-
Hi Suunto users.
I would like to propose changes to “Structured Intervals” and generally adding a screen for swimming in the pool.
Of course, you can select “general”, but the screen offered then gives only 3 pieces of information: average speed (in unknown units for swimming in the pool), heart rate and pause time counted down.
You can create your own but (…) you cannot add the “Rest Time” variable because it is not in the database and you have to change screens.Other disadvantages are:
- The messages that appear are dramatic, they last 9 seconds!
During short pauses, the screen is not visible, only the message. - Messages are very long, small letters and illegible.
- The sound of the beginning of the interval and the beginning of the pause is the same.
This causes mistakes in complex structures. - “Number of intervals” - should decrease from the set value. This is very helpful.
For example in the foto, here are some suggestions for what the screen will look like.
I am interested in your opinion.I use it and it works great, but it has drawbacks that I know about.
I hope that people who can help implement such changes swill read this post.
I am convinced that such changes will disqualify the competition.
- The messages that appear are dramatic, they last 9 seconds!

@artusdiver nice, that’s a very good suggestion for maybe a new Suunto + app?
To avoid confusion, there is no Suunto Plus “Structured Intervals” app, we do have Swim timer Suunto Plus app. I haven’t tested that one yet, have you @artusdiver ?
Based on your last photo, you were using the swim intervals screen.
The suggested screen with colors is a blend of Suunto guide screen with the interval swim screen, so it might be a Suunto Guide rather than a new Suunto plus app?
Either way, It’s a great suggestion as I said, feasibility to implement is up to S+/Guide makers

@herlas
Yes exactly, my mistake, I meant Suunto guides.
If the admin does not correct it, I will move the post to another, more appropriate place.
As a side note, I tested the Swim Timer and unfortunately it didn’t achieve the results.
Thank you for your response. -
@artusdiver this is also the place for Guides, they are a simplified version of S+ apps anyway.

@isazi
Thank you very much for the information -
@artusdiver Amazing. Finally someone think about swimmers and interval training in the pool. If screen will look like You propose, it’ll be perfect.
Very good job.
Chapeau bas. -
I forwarded the idea to Suunto.
