Stopped tracking
-
Hi. New to Suunto. The vertical is my first fitness watch ever and my first watch in 10 years. I love it, know it well, and use it 24-7. Today it stopped tracking my treadmill workout and dropped the heart rate much lower than I knew it was and why the treadmill said. It was accurate until then. So… at 1.5 miles and 153 bpm it dropped to 120bpm and .5 miles.
It immediately tracked distance on an indoor rowing machine perfectly afterwards with what seemed to be an accurate heart rate monitoring as well. Glitch?
Also, I got an update that made the menu scroll up and down instead of to the side and all of the online tutorials reference the older software orientation. I seem to be missing some watch faces or at the very least there should be better options.
Loving the watch. Life changer

@wheeler so you were running and at 1.5 miles the watch went back to 0.5 miles?
-
@isazi hello and thanks for the quick reply. Yes, but more accurately, I stopped the workout at 1.5 miles due to the heart beat monitoring dropping to and staying at 120 when I knew fairly certainly that I was in the 150s at the time. So I stopped, ended the workout on the watch and when I looked down it said I had gone .51 miles and the calories were off by about 200

@isazi I made a reply that is awaiting approval, but I had an idea. Maybe the heartbeat monitor in the treadmill sent an electrical current across my arm.
-
@wheeler I doubt that is the case, but if it happened (the lower HR thing) while you were gripping the treadmill it may be that gripping restricted your blood flow
-
@isazi if that is what happened, the watch did not rebound to the correct reading when I let go, and the distance tracking was off by a mile, and even if that was explained, the calorie count didn’t match 20 minutes of 4 miles an hour at the steepest incline on the machine. Something definitely happened.

@wheeler I am still unsure about what happened to you. If something similar happens again, take a picture, then go to the settings in Suunto App, press “Send logs to Suunto” and let me know

@isazi ok
