      Just got my Vertical and wondering how do I bypass connecting to Suunto app while doing the initial setup? I have no interest in connecting the watch to my phone as I’ll only be using it for activities and would prefer just to upload using the Suuntolink app on my pc as I’ve been doing with my A3P.

        @jasonaharris
        You can’t use SuuntoLink with Vertical, only SuuntoApp.

        Connect once and then forget it if you don’t want to use it, but you won’t have access to AGPS updates and some other stuff.

          As sartoric has stated, there is no way to connect the Vertical to SuuntoLink.

          Still you can skip the pairing to the app if you want to. Just long press the middle button in the first use wizard.

            As @sartoric and @Egika say you can skip or live without connecting it to the phone but you will face some downsizes as long GPS fixes (10/15 minutes in stationary) and won’t be able to upload routes, if you are interested in them, download maps, …

              Thanks for the answers everyone. I ended up returning the Vertical and grabbing an excellent condition Ambit 3 Peak off Ebay.

                  @jasonaharris waouhhhh …despite A3P is a strong and reliable device (I’ve used it intensivly durign 4 years), it’s now so far behind the SV…
                  Too bad that you hadn’t seen that every recent watch (of any brand) needs a phone for sync.
                  Enjoy your A3p !
