Strange behavior or lack of knowledge?

Hi, I was forced to delete the Suunto App for some reasons, and after a week I installed it again.
Now the watch syncs when bluetooth is on but Suunto App isn’t running. All apps are closed on the iPhone and when bluetooth is on shortly after the activity is done, there comes the notification that new activities are synced.
I can’t remember it working like that, or was it all the time, just not for me and my iPhone-Spartan-combo?? Or am I just stupid again…Thanks and have a good evening!

Well … that’s how it should work afaik, but it never did
-
But with a completely closed app? Not even running in the background?
Before the de-installation I always had to start the app to sync.@sartoric said in Strange behavior or lack of knowledge?:

App now syncs automatically in background even you have force closed it BLE is still active and you will get notifications to the watch and etc

I can’t understand why a closed app should be able to perform the actions like syncing. I do understand that you will still get notifications to the watch, but syncing? And before it didn’t act like that, its still the same version of the app. And today it stopped syncing with the SuuntoApp closed.

@jthomi Have you tried soft resetting your iPhone? Something similar happened to me. The app was closed, but the watch was still alerting of synchronization in progress.
-
@jthomi With the app closed from multitasking you should only receive notifications. It seems like a small glitch of the system.

I don’t know it the watch was alerting cause of a sync in progress. I saw it at first when the iPhone said that new activities were synced already. Without me starting SuuntoApp.
For the last two days it synced activities without app being active, in front or back. Now it stopped. Funny things seem to happen!

@jthomi background refresh for app is turned on?
-
@jthomi my app is syncing in the background. Occasionally, it does not and I need to force quit the app. When the app fails to automatically sync, if I check the watch connection it usually cannot connect to the watch. This is rare and either an app force quit or iPhone reboot solves the problem. I do not think this is an app problem but a BT communication issue. When this occurs, my notifications are often missing too.

Same here, but resetting the watch also seems to get the things back on track.

Its on, but was on all the time and before a few days ago when app was reinstalled. the app didn’t sync with the watch while being off. But seems like its solved.

My app is also syncing in the background, that is no problem. It was syncing while completely off and that behaviour was new. But seems like its gone already, now App & Watch only sync when app is running, front or background doesn’t matter.
