Suunto 5 stuck in firmware update.
-
Hello everyone!
I’ve decided to ask here about a problem that I’m having with my suunto 5. It’s stuck in firmware update and I am begining to think is a hardware problem. I’ve tried everything…letting it consume the battery, reseting it with the 12 seconds buttons. unpluging the watch from it’s battery after opening it, manually trying to update firmware…and nothing works. Suunto just sent me to find a service because I’ve tried asking them too.
On the forums is nothing clear about this problem sau if anyone could help me… -
@Rades-Daniel-Sebastian I would advise you to try other computer (preferably with windows higher than 7) and other cable.
-
Also, drain the battery until even the empty battery 🪫 display is turned off and the display is completely off and does not display anything (if that was not the case already).

@Mauerwegler I’ve tried 3 different computers with windows 10 on them, let the battery drain a couple of times also opened the watch and unplugged the battery. Nothing works for me, it’s stuck in the same error and I don’t know if that error is signaling a hardware problem or not… Thank you for the reply!

Honestly I would try another cable, even from amazon or aliexpress to not be that expensive.

Maybe a stupid question, but from your screenshot it seems that you’re trying to update to the same version already installed. Is this normal?
-
@Francesco-Pagano iirc re-flashing is not a problem
-
@Francesco-Pagano that’s also not the latest available version (2.19.42 < 2.23.20), could that be a problem ?

@Rades-Daniel-Sebastian Have you been able to fix this or find out what the issue was? Mine is doing exactly the same at the moment.
