Heart rate inconsistencies since most recent update
-
Hello
Since the most recent firmware update I’ve been getting some odd HRM readings from my polar 9 band which has always been fine in the past. The reading on the watch and suunto app is too high, assumed it was picking up cadence initially so washed the band and changed the battery but it’s not sorted it. On a relatively easy run today suunto app has my heart rate at an average of 168 (max is about 185) whereas Strava using the same data synced via suunto app has an average of 119 which is much closer to the likely figure. Anyone else seeing anything similar or have any ideas?
You can see the difference on the screenshots below.

Any ideas anyone?

@adamj I have the Polar H10 Hrm and due to the cooler weather have started to use “Electroden Gel” for ECG, EEG, EMG & Defibrillation to ensure better detection of HR.
I would also test the resistivity of your belt as it may need replacing (not the actual pod, just the belt).
check this youbube video for more info on that.Hope this helps

@adamj I had a fit of dropouts with my H9, sent it back to Polar and they replaced the belt as the electrodes were dead. Looked very similar.
