Why does my S9 keep resetting!?
-
This is identical to what just happened to me, but now my watch is stuck on the boot mode screen and no manner of hard/soft reset will fix it.
-
how’s your watch now? mine got exact the same issue all of sudden. tried everything the forum suggested to no change. figured I may need to wait and try reflash the watch the with future newer version firmware .

@kiloaway last firmware update should have fixed this. Did you contact support also? It may even be the cable, or something in your setup. The only time it happened to me (in 2019) was because I was using Suuntolink in a virtual machine and the USB was not whitelisted.

Hi all, I was trying to find information on how I can recover the sports modes I have customised for my Suunto 9 Baro.
Today the watch randomly required a reset while charging, and both SuuntoLink and the Suunto iPhone app now consider this as a new watch (serial number is the same, but that does not seem to help at all).
The Suunto app has also erased all sports modes, there were quite a few… It seems I really have to recreate all Sports modes, or am I missing something?
Software is and was up-to-date on all devices.
Thanks!

Unfortunately yes. Maybe it will change in the future, but I don’t know.
Do you charge your watch on your computer, or just with ac adapter and cable?

@isazi Hi, Thanks. I charge the watch via power cable and would usually only connect to my laptop for software updates. It was also connected to power cable this morning when the reset was suddenly required. Do you think that makes difference?
And besides that, not being able to recover the sports modes is very, very disappointing. Now the good thing is that I kept Suunto app print screens of all watch displays for my most important sports modes…

That sounds normal, I would assume that the reset would happen only if connected to a computer. Maybe a faulty cable?
-
@isazi Hi, no faulty cable. I am using this since I have the watch. Bad luck as it seems…
-
@martinlx the fact that this happens may actually mean you have a faulty cable. Cables break. Or maybe the pins under your watch are a bit rusty and need cleaning. You may want to have a chat with support too.
-
@isazi I mean, these things can happen, power cable or not. The issue is that the customised sports modes are lost, although they are on a separate device that knows me as a user with a Sunnto user account. One would expect that it should be easy to recover them…
