@slash was the water warm
-
@brad_olwin don’t know, let’s ask my watch watch says 30.4c
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos reflection from what? There were no buildings and quite open area for good gps signal.

lake / river
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos even if I am above it 20m and far away 50m? Unbelievable
-
@slash only one thing to do: find out which satellites were available to you at the time, and plot their course in relation to your course, and determine if any would have been broadcasting from the right spot for a reflection error.

What @Ze-Stuart said.
I love these debates. Lets assume it like so:
The water is a mirror and the satelite sees you from that mirror. The more far away you are the wider the angle thus where the sat is.
something like so
\___/
God damn I am bad in this example.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos personally never faced such before near the water

I do GPS testing as you know and its the biggest problem. Usually referred to multipath problem
-
PErhaps this helps

something like so
\___/
*satellite in space \ .slash and his watch \ / \__/ big reflecting pond slash runs around
You can tell it’s a busy day…
-
@slash Since you don’t run:)… when walking my watch generally faces outward or laterally to the side, when running I hold my arms more upright and the watch face is generally pointed to the sky. Would be interesting to see if the track is worse when the watch and arm are closest to the water.

dude you made my day
-
Just to ease understanding this … reverse it. In fact it’s your device that see the satellite, not the opposite, and you see the reflected signals carrying data for the other side of the water
-
Anyway I think glonASS is making such I will turn it off and this won’t happen again Russians do not make reliable stuff
-
@slash you should send me your Baro for testing look what I get with my “little” Trainer (ok no Glonass I know):
My Trainer never let me down

Trainer has one of the Best GPS atm in the market. Ok not better than A3P or V800 but I think its just under those
-
@nicolasp now walk that route instead of the running
-
@slash I’ll do it and will let you know as interesting to compare the GPS accuracy running vs walking
-
Let’s say that satellite position is the main factor for that “mirror” effect
