To return to the Peak (or the next Suunto), an autonomy of 30-35 h in 1s mode would be ideal for me
Not trying to convince you the Peak is the right watch for you, maybe it is not, but I often get estimate battery life of 30/31 hours with GPS and optical heart rate enabled with the peak. I think Suunto is being honest saying 25 (I think in the default configuration they use Glonass) but more juice can be extracted from the Peak.
I concur with @isazi, I am getting estimates of 30 to 31h but that has yet to be tested in a long event…I have one coming up starting on Sunday this week. Stay tuned.

Great overview of Peak + nice photos by Suunto tester Saketa Nemo. Link was posted on Facebook Run4IQ: SUUNTO talks by Andrew Nugged.

and without? or with an HRM belt or optical armband with bluetooth?More or less 28/29 hours with external heart rate monitor. Have never tried with no HR at all.

Does anyone know when the pre-orders open up?

For France they are open. Shipping on 17th of June.
-
@andré-faria Same goes for The Netherlands
-
@andrejsg If you are asking about US and Canada, my guess is after the Memorial Day weekend. On one hand, there’s a big sale going on on existing models. On the other, Suunto probably wants to give the rest of the world an opportunity to pre-order theirs before people like myself lay claim to the entirety of the first few production batches…
-
@nickk Yeah I guess it makes sense for it to go live after memorial day. Here’s what I’m seeing:
-
@andrejsg We are seeing exact same thing So, the reality is… real. Hopefully, that nice pre-order button is finally shown in coming days.
Also, I remember Suunto 7 could also be pre-ordered on Amazon, if it helps.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos What are the correct Measurements? The description says 43 x 43 x 10.6 mm but from the picture the thickness should be 13 mm link text.
-
@nickk just pre-ordered mine yesterday
-
@wotus I am not sure
-
@wotus According to The5kRunner review, it seems to depend on whether the OHR sensor is included or not.

Another question. Did anyone know if S9P has an updated CPU compared to S9b?
I assume a new processor has been added (less power consume and higher capacity) but I could be wrong

@mff73 OK.
It seems very strange to me to measure an element without taking part of this element into account ! -

Personnaly (and I never had a watch with OHR… yet), but I feel like the sensor is expected to “press into the skin” (sorry for this expression ), and the real thickness of the watch (seen when worn) is more like measuring without this sensor.
So, marketing new measures, or new reference, result is to compare apples to apples.
