Suunto 9 Peak (review and specs)
-
@egika Yeah, I’m asking this myself too.
I’m also guessing that the S9 and S9P will receive some of the new GPS goodies because its is the same chip.
I also think that we could receive the OTA upgrades, watchfaces and probably more things.
From what I can see in Suunto’s web seems that the S9P will co-live with the S9 and S9B some time, so I hope they will have aligned software during this time. -
@egika we dont have anymore any watch without a barometer up to…
However I think the chip is changed. (GNSS)
-
@cosmecosta not OTAs, it listed on the website to be exclusive for s9P, which is likely due to bluetooth 5
-
@дима-мельниченко yeah, unfortunately I think the S9 non peak was not designed for this.
-
But now the 2 questions for people running with Stryd: Are all metrics in the FIT file now and do we have structured intervals? Best case sync the trainings from Stryd to Suunto App or watch directly…
Snap to route is nice, Garmin has this feature based on the underlying maps. Works great if you have that use case.
-
@isazi fine with me, it doesn’t matter where the watch cannot be used during an update. On my wrist or near a laptop.
-
@marcus-0 its not the same feature.
Stryd mertics are not imported. You can view those on the powercenter.
In regards to training sync (TP stryd) there have been some rumors / dicussions here in the forum (romain)
-
-
Is Stryd supported?
-
Can I manually set the stryd calibration factor?
-
-
I like OTA, oximetry and the position of the baro holes! well done
-
@in7ead 1. Yes
2. No -
Look very nice The one thing that I miss is a Amoled screen. I hope there maybe be a new Suunto 7 in a similar design
-
Thanks for the info.
Unfortunately I need to work, and have no time now to read everything… but it seems to be amazing, and seems like a huge progress in Software and Design
CONGRATULLATIONS SUUNTO!!!

@in7ead I asume like the s9. If you expect a full integration with all the metrics Stryd broadcasts I think at this point you won’t have LSS, GCT, Poweratio… in real time. You will have it in powecenter later but not in the watch.

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos said in Suunto 9 Peak (review and specs):
This is a big thank you to all testers that made this happen.
Special thanks to @Saketo-Nemo @isazi @Joaquin @Hecke and @Brad_Olwin (our own guys here )
I would have loved being one of them
-
@mff73
for the next one: me, too -
Congrats on really nice look. The only thing that I don’t like is the huge bezels. I think watch would look much nicer with smaller bezels, or they could have used this space to utilize the solar charging.
As of the new features… Few nice additions but personally I don’t think it’s something that would make people buy it instead of S9B if they own one atm. I do hope that some of the new features come to s9 with the firmware update thou.
I consider this watch a nice refreshment in suunto 9 line. Evolution, but not revolution. And I hope that means that All suunto 9 models will get updates for years to come, as it’s still essentially the same watch more or less.

@prenj some new things coming to our beloved S9 in June. Some of them not even talked about yet.
-
@isazi
…like… ?? -
@prenj yes, the screen measures 30 mm. it is very small! (fenix 6S equivalent). I find the reduction very important (34mm on S9B)
-
@isazi Looking forward to these, and receiving my (used) S9B!
