System update – PXDZ.210326.002.A2
-
Thanks for this System update!!! I love it.
-
Love it too! Huge improvement.
Thank you, Suunto team! -
I have a few questions related to sleep tracking.
- Is it possible to see the detailed chart for a sleep session? With the sequence of all the phases and their duration? Something similar to what I had with Fitbit?
- what is the minimum sleep time being tracked? I had a nap the other day, not sure how long, but it was not tracked.
-
@massimiliano-mirannalti if you have connected your Google Fit account you can see a graph over time of the sleep stages there
-
Is anyone having issue since the latest update? I´m facing the following behaviour:
- Battery keeps draining out, almost 50% gone within 2 hours by just having the Suunto 7 on my wrist. No activities or anything running, just BT and WiFi activated
- Some of my settings are gone. The clock face (Marine) does not show up the counter for the foot steps anymore, i had to enable it again, but its not counting steps anymore.
- Connection to the Suunto app on my Android phone is broken (and remains broken, no matter how many connection attempts or restarts i´ll be doing), even though the BT connection is available as the Wear OS app can connect to the watch.
- Activity history on the watch is gone, restart does not change anything at all. No clue if its lost or can be restored once the app can sync back to the phone.
So… “a bit disappointing on my end so far”, to use nice words. Anyone out the in the community who shares that experience?
Greetings. -
This update covers all I wanted of the S7 the excepts Stryd support. I love it.
-
My experiences so far with the update and a Suunto 7 which was resetted to factory settings after the update and without any third-party apps):
- Solstice watch face is laggy and most of the time only black, not coloured
- The tile “ressources” didn’t close by itself twice until today, soft reset was necessary
- Sleep tracking is draining battery (35 % for 8,5 hours in airplane mode)
- Complication “steps” on the watchface doesn’t open the activity screen/app and on the Solstice watchface the icon disappears after tapping on “steps”
-
@robsen I had to wait a significant time after the update and restart my watch until everything was back up and running normal.
Sleep tracking and 24/7 HR has no big impact on battery.
-
@egika Thanks; any hint on the “significant amount of time”? The update was executed automatically last night while the watch was connected to the charger, so meanwhile i´d assume that its more than 12 hours by now and 3 restarts performed. Unfortunately no changes in behaviour so far…
-
@robsen Yes, I have the same issue, connection to Wear OS is fine, but no connection to the Suunto app anymore and no possibility to connect to any other device

Interesting. I’ve not had this issue. I put mine in cinema mode.
-
Couple of hours later - still no changes, issues still showing up; it´s even worse as the Suunto app on the watch is not working anymore thus i cannot track any activities. https://www.tiktok.com/@robsensuunto/video/6954750247579028741?lang=de-DE&is_copy_url=0&is_from_webapp=v1&sender_device=pc&sender_web_id=6954749429874607622

I wonder if these two are related to you putting the watch into aeroplane mode overnight? The Solstice face requires location data, so maybe aeroplane mode is causing it to reset to default?
I put my watch into Cinema mode overnight and only lose 10% max for 8 hrs sleep- Complication “steps” on the watchface doesn’t open the activity screen/app and on the Solstice watchface the icon disappears after tapping on “steps”
I have this too, but it has not stopped disappearing randomly and is now only when I tap on it (which I only did to test it).

I saw this reddit post and I noticed that I’m missing some screens from the phone Suunto app https://www.reddit.com/r/WearOS/comments/mw2s0e/suunto_7_just_gets_better_and_better/gvkc84f?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
I don’t have these 2 screens from the home screen https://imgur.com/pt7vYlg and https://imgur.com/0O6Qhr0 and also this screen from the Diary screen https://imgur.com/9ITIsHK
I checked in Google Play and I have the latest version of the Suunto app and I also cleared the data and the cache of the Suunto app on the phone and relogged in again and those tabs still do not appear.
What can be the problem?
-
@steff those screenshots are from the beta. Are you using the beta?

Aeroplane mode does not disable location service. And I do not use the Solstice watch face because of the described problems.
On my Skagen Falster 3 there are nights, where the battery usage is 10 % for 8 hours and nights, where the battery usage is 35 %. I don’t know what the reason is.

Does anyone know what happens if you answer “no” to the “are you awake” question?!
In what circumstances would anyone ever press this legitimately ?

Going to the toilet in the middle of the night, and want to be sure the watch doesn’t consider you as awake for the day?

I didn’t realise that location stayed on during aeroplane mode, I assumed the watch pulled it’s location data from the watch unless tracking an activity.
Maybe you could try using cinema mode at night instead of aeroplane mode to see if that helps the battery?I’ve not had any lag issues with the solstice face at all, it’s as speedy as all the others.
I assume you have already restarted and reset the watch, so maybe contact Suunto support?
As as aside, could there be a third party app causing these issues? On my Skagen Falster 3 there are nights, where the battery usage is 10 % for 8 hours and nights, where the battery usage is 35 %. I don’t know what the reason is.
If you are getting high battery usage across multiple devices it suggests to me it is less likely to be a hardware or software issue and more likely to be caused by a configuration or set up.
As mentioned above, try using cinema mode instead of aeroplane mode over night.Cinema mode does the same as Do Not Disturb and Screen Off at the same time.

Update HR and sleeping are great. Only i dont know battery is on 5% after 24h.
