S9 Baro, data missing when pressing button for split time in exercise
-
@mff73 in my case it has become frequent problem and i can alreadly tell at the end of training what will happed. If training session is saved in few seconds - everything about data is always ok, but if it takes more time, etc. 30 s or more , data is missing or invalid on logbook and Suunto App. I always use same stuff - Suunto 9 baro, garmin HR belt, and now “original” non customized sport modes.

@mff73 said in S9 Baro, data missing when pressing button for split time in exercise:
is it an activity synced from watch to SuuntoApp directly or “imported” through a external fit file or synced with some Syncmytracks or Rungap
Imported directly from the watch to Suunto App … but abnormally! In the sense that, at the end of the recording, while I was holding down the unlocking button (usually locking to avoid accidental button presses), the watch display turned off completely for about 20 seconds, and then went back directly to the display of the time, without going through the request for saving and feeling. When I then synced with Suunto App, this report came out wrong, while in the watch log there was a completely empty session

@michele-zago
ok, now Dimitrios has your link and will see.
btw, nice photo in your activity -
@michele-zago okay, actually your case looks different than for @Gregor-Kržan then.
-
Is this a one time activity?
The activity looks incomplete, like a internal crash happened and could not create the ascent etc data.
I think this will be solved with the update from yesterday
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos I did not understand the question for “one time” … it is a recording that I made, among other things I made another one a few days later and everything went ok without any problem …
-
@isazi Yes, let’s say it’s not exactly the same case, but they are very similar, especially for the result that comes out in the Suunto App …
-
I mean that in this particular activity the logs say that the watch had trouble saving the activity and saved it without the summaries ie ascent etc.
This can be a bug that afaik is solved in yesterdays release
-
We will see if there will be no problem with new firmware. Upgraded yesterday.
-
Ok guys, here i am again. Did 3 trainings after firmware update, first two were with no data issues, but yesterdays cycling … same problem. Missing ascent / descent, highest and lowest altitude are 10x less than real, but the altitude graph is OK but its recorded only until pause (22 of 28 km) !? And another thing, i made a more than half an hour stop / pause which Sunnto App added to traning duration (thats just not ok). But when looking the same training in Strava everything is fine again, also duration withount pause. Really have no clue whats going on.
-
Ok no answer…guess no one knows what is problem here and its solution. So now I have a watch which was confirmed as working without problems by official service…but data after training is still incorrect as you can see above…
Very dissapointed user. -
@gregor-kržan I would contact support again and show them the wrong activities. Sounds like your watch crashes saving the activity and does not write the correct data.
-
Ok I will…but why is data on Strava correct then? It uses file connected with watch and suunto app where data shown is missing or incorrect !!!
-
@gregor-kržan the best hypothesis is that because the header is missing Strava is recomputing the data. I would be very annoyed if I was you also, but if it happens so often there must be something wrong with your watch. Did you send your watch to Finland or some local dealer?
-
@isazi I didnt send to Finland because I sent it to official service which is only official service in Slovenia for Suunto.
-
@gregor-kržan I can only suggest you to contact them again and show them this forum topic also. Don’t know if @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos can help you with support.
-
Did it take a long saving time ?
What sport mode did you use?
Did you use navigation?
To me the issue is abvious. The watch does not save the activity correctly due to some reason .
So as much possible info you can add it will benefit.
The main question for me is:
- When you finish the activity does the watch save it and present you with the data of the summaries?
According to what I see the watch should crash at that point.
-
Thanks for your reply here. Ok when problems started I used only one sport mode - customized hiking with laps and I thought that was the case. Watch took more time than usual to save exercise and there was only data available for duration and distance I think…no altitude or HR. On Suunto App there were same invalid values as shown above.
Then I took watch to licensed service where they tested it and told me everything is ok. I later did few different trainings and sport modes and in two cases same irregularities happened. First in running with no pauses and second in cycling with 30 min pause. All looks ok on Strava though.
In both cases watch took more time to save exercise then usually does and data is again only duration with pause included plus distance and I think avg speed. No altitude or HR again. No navigation used.

@gregor-kržan Another possibility is you have a corrupt sport mode. If only one sport mode is causing the issues you might try deleting the mode and making it again.
