I wonder if komoot navigation will work on Spartan … that would mean that something has been fixed or worked around
-
@sartoric it does for what I’ve read today.
-
-
@sartoric normally it works for spartan
-
The komoot app didn’t convince me in the past. Turn by turn is indeed a great option, but why doesn’t the SA itself support it? It feels like you are pushing your users away from your own app.
That being said, I am now looking even more forward to the next release. So let’s wait and see for what comes next

@andrasveres Hi and thanks for your reply. The answer is no to both questions: My internet browser works fine and is uncommon getting invalid certificates and issues with it.
I had this issue with the last update 2.13, and its was solved forcing the firmware in a .rar archive.

@olivier-cornelissen currently it’s the most convenient option, but not the only one. Suppose it would be implemented directly in sa, some people still would prefer one thing over the other, so I don’t know if current representation is bad or not.
Also, I don’t know if I understood you correctly, but I’m not working for suunto, I would love to do some testing though XD

I don’t know what the letter F means in the zip file’s name, could letter U be the next one?
-
Is it psychologic due to update or the baro seems to work better !
-
@zhang965 thanks a lot

I’m supposed to have a rest day tomorrow…but there’s something so tempting about new firmware
-
@olivier-cornelissen I’m not convinced that Suunto is ever going to produce a great firmware update. This one is so lackluster at this point.
-
@prenj Ya I feel like the POIs operated identically before? I didn’t test them thoroughly. But nothing seems to have changed there that I’ve noticed

I wouldn’t really call it “Komoot Navigation” but it is Komoot integration with SA (to upload routes) AND Komoot had the ability to generate routes with automatic WP at each identified turn (and related WP naming).
So, it will work with Spartan (not tested as I don’t have komoot) like any other routes with WP : with no naming shown during navigation
Just tested now, and I can do the exact same with Locus Map routing, exporting my route into Gpx with WP and turn-by-turn instructions inside (just WP with naming) and import it with QS or Runalyze to SA.Komoot integration is good and easy to use, but not any real evolution of Suunto watch capacities , and really nothing usefull if WP naming is a not shown on watch.
Marketing has done their job, with marketing description of the reality.
Here is route in SA imported from QS, created WP with Locus.

@дима-мельниченко Sorry, I wanted to post a general remark. It was only by accident that I replied directly to you
-
@zrumlow Don’t forget that the watch has also really nice things (battery life, nice watchfaces, suuntoplus features like weather and Safe I really like when multiple day hiking. Only remark is that you can’t use both of them, but as such, Safe is only to be used in exceptional cases ;-))
As my watch is still working fine, I am going to be optimistic and hope for more convincing releases in the future. Of course, the needs in a watch also depends on the environment were you live in / sport in. And unfortunately I am not living in an outdoor country like Finland. So if I ever need a new watch, I’ll rethink to see what is important.

Just like the previous version, I am unable to complete the update of my S9Baro using an up to date SuuntoLink on Win10 Pro 64bit - SuuntoLink says the watch was disconnected, and the update fails. S9 is bricked.
The last time around I had to depend on @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos’ help for downloading the FW and manually drag&dropping it on SuuntoLink, which worked. It is now obvious that this approach is not sustainable, and is a more serious bug. I am surprised though that there are not more reports of this!? It doesn’t make sense that just my unit be affected, does it?
-
@radu-negoescu I have only had your kind of issues running a virtual machine.
-
@isazi this is not a virtual machine. and the fact that drag&drop install works but suuntolink normal install doesn’t points to an issue not related to my setup, as far as I can understand it at least …
