Question: Syncing two watches using two phones into one account
-
Hi!
I am using both an S9 and and S7.
As I have two iPhones each watch is connected to a separate phone but both phones sync to the same account. How are steps handles in this case when I swap watches during the day? Is one overwriting the other or are the steps added?
How about 24/7 HR? Will those be added to each other as well?Thx!
-
@egika I rarely do this and mostly re-connect the watch I am wearing, this permits steps/HR/resources to be correctly pulled from each watch and is dead easy on iOS. Why use 2 phones. I have 5 Suunto watches connected to my one iPhone.

@brad_olwin 5 Suunto watches? Do tell if any have a number higher than S9…?

@brad_olwin while I understand that it works well the way you do it, I am still interested to find out about what happens in my use case.
Anyone who knows? -

Well, we know he has at least a suunto 5, a suunto 7 and suunto s9b…

@bulkan
should I prepare a hammer to slaughter my piggy bank?! -
@egika I don’t have another phone to test.
-
@bulkan That leaves two more watches…the mind boggles.

@ldxmsg
S11 and S11B?
…or is this too obvious? -
@ldxmsg One more: “I have 2 S9 baro watches.” And that might not be the only dupe. Or … there’s boggle-room, as you say.
-
It would be okay if the Suunto phone app would be able to handle two different Suunto watches at the same time.
I have a SSU and a S7 and the app can only be connected to one of the watches.
If I want to sync the SSU I have to pair it every time again with the shown Bluetooth code on the SSU.
That’s not the best way.
I have two Casio G-SHOCK too. No problem for the Casio app to sync both connected watches and have the same profile settings on both the watches and the data of both watches in the app.
Come on, Suunto!

2 S9 baros
S3
S5
S7 -
@brad_olwin I refuse to believe it. In my head watches 4 and 5 are much more shiny and exciting and new…
-
@pilleus Agreed, but this is an OS issue, on iOS no code necessary just forget/select watches.

OS issue
No, it’s the Suunto Android app. With other apps I can connect again every Bluetooth device in Android after a first initial pairing.
-
@brad_olwin On Garmin Connect on iOS you can have two watches synced at the same time and it seamlessly merges data both to the app, but also back to the watches again. In other words, this is purely a Suunto issue.
-
@ldxmsg there are in fact requests in the forum both for (seamless) multiple devices support and two-way sync between app and watches.
-
@isazi Yes indeed, I’ve added to them both I think!
