How do I do a soft reset

Hold down the top right button until the screen goes off, you can then let go and the watch will do a soft reset
That’s not normal. I charged mine to 100% on Saturday morning - it’s now Wednesday, I have done a few decent training sessions and I’m on 63% (not using power saving or anything)

@miniforklift will I lose my software update
-
@miniforklift depends on the settings. My 2 yo s9 lasts about 3-4 days with whr 24/7 and sleep tracking but no notification and about 5-6 hours of activity during this period.
-
@miniforklift I would say that mine decreases by about 10-15% per day, and that’s with smart notifications, 24hr HR and sleep tracking. I normally use GPS each day for a run or dog walk (which uses additional battery obviously), so on average I charge it every 4 days.

@ldxmsg but will I lose my software update if I software reset
-
@ianpet Not for a soft reset - it basically turns your watch off and on again. As was said above, hold down the top right button for around 12s and the screen will go dark (at which point you can let go) and will automatically turn on again a few seconds later. I probably soft reset mine once per week to clear the phantom calendar notifications that won’t disappear (that’s a whole different story!).

@ldxmsg and does it help the battery length

I would guess no. Sounds like there’s an actual issue with your watch so I’d be getting in touch with Suunto CS

@ianpet
Softreset is more just , ‘turnoff watch and turn it on’
You won’t loose any settings, it is like restarting (like for your phone).
The only thing to do after a “softreset” is to connect to the app to sync again the GPS assisted data.
And in your case, after softreset, proceed to full discharge of watch and full charge to let the watch software calibrate the battery again.Softreset won’t modifiy anything in the battery hardware, but sometimes battery software management need to be resetted (the software has some mess in the battery measurment gauges), thus softreset can just clean this.
And in your case, after softreset, proceed to full discharge of watch and full charge to let the watch software calibrate the battery again.
-
@miniforklift I did a soft reset just b4 bed at 42% and this morning battery 37%
-
@ianpet Is that with sleep tracking, HR and notifications on? If so, doesn’t seem too unreasonable.
-
@ldxmsg yes I left all on
-
@ianpet it’s normal then
-
@дима-мельниченко oh thank God for that even tho I charged it Friday gone
-
@ianpet when I charge it fully next will I leave on e everything
-
@ianpet the guys on here saying they get a 11 days is that with everything on
-

No, impossible. I get around 9 days without notifications, 24h or sleep tracking and around 6/8 of GPS with belt.
-
@ianpet I didn’t - I get 4 days with everything on. I said as much earlier in this thread!

maybe to get a good view of the situation, can you create a similar post as I did (https://forum.suunto.com/topic/3674/suunto-9-baro-quick-discharge-problem/67?_=1613503046483)?
So we get an idea about the settings, activities and battery drain rate you experience?
There are simply too much variables to just state if 4, 8, 11 or 15 days are normal for the watch. It depends…
