S9baro and Garmin Map64S
-
Hello,
I didn’t find the answer.
So there is my question :Is it possible to synchronize the gps data from my Garmin Map64S with an activity recorded with the S9baro but without GPS or in Ultra ?
Why ? Because if i can this week i want to hike with my backpack for 2 or 3 days. I always use my GPS garmin due to a bigger screen, outter antenna, big buton useable with gloves and the most important thing for me it use AA battery so it’s easier to manage on the field.
On my gps i have many maps so i can see where i am ect…I want to know if it’s possible to record data with my watch to but in ultra to preserve battery for maximum and if at the end i can synchronize all those data on SA to have just activities with good gps track recorded
Best regards !

@g287-sf think this one is well covered in the external tools thread, but apparently Golden Cheetah has a nice file blender, and there are a couple of other tools for mixing files mentioned in the header too.

You can import to garmin connect and then sync it via rungap/syncmytracks

@andré-faria i will download Garmin connect. I don’t think about it because i just use garmin base Camp. Thank you

@the_77 thank you !

if you don’t use, you can use other 3rd party that you use (strava, runalyze,etc) and have 2 way sync to SA

@andré-faria i think i wasn’t clear.
Sync in different apps it’s ok.
I want to know if can “merge” activities recorded on 2 differents tools. -

I want to know if can “merge” activities recorded on 2 differents tools.You will have to use another site to do that. Frankly I am not sure it would work well but easy enough to test. I have merged files before but these are ones where 2 files recorded an exercise. I have not tried to merge two together with overlapping data. What is wrong with Ultra mode data anyway? FusedTrack will provide you with excellent GPS tracks. I have and can show examples where you might find it difficult to pick which was Endurance/Ultra vs Best mode.

If you find a site that does that let us know.
On my side, with the etrex it could be cool to then merge power meter data (that could be gathered by the suunto). -
@andré-faria i’m sorry if you don’t understand well what is try say
If i can this week i want go hike 2-3 days and to save my S9 baro i just want record everything except GPS and for that i want use my Garmin map64s who is a real gps working on AA batterie (i can take a few with me) and like this my GPS record will be precise and the S9 record my “health data” and at the end i want merge the to do one simple activity.
Am I clear ? -
@brad_olwin i’ve read Ultra work better for trail runner than hiker with backpack so i’m a bit affraid of the result. And in all case i’ll have my GPS where i can see all map 1 : 25 000.

@g287-sf Your S9baro will record for 120h in Ultra mode with no charging (or close to that). You will not get HR but you will get great GPS tracks, altitude, etc.

It won’t matter if you are hiking, just select trail run mode or create a custom trail run mode. My 100 mile races are not very fast, the watch will do a good job recording.

And watch out for those sneaky ETE/ETA/Distance to POI/End fields.

Maybe it’ll be easier to take an external battery and charge at my base camp ? I really don’t want stop to use the HR, i want record all data, for what ? Just because i can and i want to see how my heart work by curiosity ( i already have the feeling when it climb ) and now how much calories i spend, the epoc ect… I buy a 599€ “toy” i want use each euros of it
-
@pilleus i’ll take a closer look, it seems to have the solution i’m looking for. But i’ll check if i can find it in French to be sure to correctly understand. thank you dude

As you don’t go UL, absolutely.
-
@fenr1r is it possible to charge during i’m using it ? Or it’s not good for the watch ?
-
@g287-sf If you mean charging while it’s on your wrist and you’re exercising … I don’t know enough to answer. I think others here might.
Seems to me like the sort of thing to do at the end of each day. Take it off & hook it up while you’re waiting for coffee to brew. Unless you need dining HR, of course.
