@Mff73 I had that same experience with my new belt. I returned the belt (with the sensor attached to it) to the shop. They had to send it for repair because they also couldn’t remove it without damaging the belt.
-
The new belt is still made in china ?
-
@zhang965 yes.

Thanks.
The same feeling for me : too hard to remove it without damage.
I will contact Suunto. Bad luck. -

I will contact Suunto. Bad luck.I am still using an old belt as it is working, the new belt has not been opened. But, I leave my sensor on the belt all the time except when I put the belt in the washing machine. Why do you need to remove the sensor? If the new belt works better I will just stick to hand washing and probably never drop it in the washing machine. I leave the sensor attached when I hand wash the belt.

Keep me posted here . I hear ya

@Brad_Olwin
I used to remove it for some battery saving and cleaning (i rince belt and sensor separately).
Maybe it is useless, maybe not.
But at least, if i need to change battery, i will have to separate them , and I prefer to contact support now the belt is brand new, than in weeks or months -

Too late, they have been plugged without. I should have lubed before celebrating the union

@Brad_Olwin to change the battery of the sensor…
-
@surfboomerang Agreed, I do that maybe once a year. Sounds like this could be a problem. I am happy that you testers out there found out about this one before mine were irreversibly coupled.
-
@Brad_Olwin The way I found out was because the belt I ordered wasn’t working. I applied contact gel, but still no result. So I wanted to change the battery first before returning the belt and that is where the fun started.
I don’t know if there is a faulty batch, because the second one I received recently (after the world-wide belt shortage) works fine.
-
@surfboomerang I don’t have the issue with my belt (also new model). I bought it maybe a month ago, no longer than that.
-
It looks my belt has got the same problem.

@zhang965 Yes, is this a new generation belt or the older one?

old one
-
@zhang965 I am still using my old one but if a trip through the washing machine and they still act like this, time to throw it away. I have a new one but have not used it yet, waiting for the old one to die. Dimitrios tested the new one for 1 year and has had no issues. If you order a black belt from Suunto they will send the new one, not any other color and I do not know about other suppliers.
-
My belt is a new old-style never washed.
-
@zhang965 How new? I wash mine 1x per week and the old ones are typically dead after 8 months.
