Heart rate accuracy: S9 and Suunto Heart Rate Belt

I’ve searched the archives and I can’t find a discussion with a comparison between S9 and Suunto belt for accuracy. Does anyone have any thoughts on this topic or can you point me toward the proper thread?

@michaeldwilson I use the H10 from Polar. It’s the best I ever had and it has Bluetooth AND ANTt+ so goes with my Ambit2 as well

I use the ohr sensor of the S9 only for short paced activities (hiking, mountaineering) or when I don’t mind it being wrong (e.g. kayak) for a while. Use the belt for everything else. According to internet lore the ohr on the S9 isn’t great because the watch is large and bouncy. I had better results with the Velcro strap, but I still prefer the bel whenever possible.

Is it true that watch consume less energy once use hr belt than ohr?

@tomahawk5000 true. The sensor on the S9 is quite expensive on the battery, more than Bluetooth.
