HR issue
-
I have S9 and smart sensor. Can anybody help me with this HR issue? Randomly during workouts the HR will jump to zone 5 and freeze there, often 190-200bpm. Sometimes it stops after a few minutes, sometimes it stays there for 20+minutes. I replaced the sensor batteries about a 2 weeks ago (~18hr of use since then). I’ve tried using performance mode and endurance mode. The watch is about a year old. Problem started happening about a month ago and is a consistent issue now. I didn’t see a post about this issue, if there already is one, pls refer me to it. Thanks, Willi

@Willi-Cannell sounds like a strap issue. Do you have the old Suunto strap? And yes, discussed many times in the forum already
-
@isazi thanks! strap is 10 mo old. do you know if that’s the old one?
-
@Willi-Cannell is the connector between pod and strap black or white?
-
@isazi black and says movesense on it
-
@Willi-Cannell black is the old one. Try to contact support.

Thank you for the help! While I have you: do you know how often battery should be replaced in sensor pod?
-
@Willi-Cannell sorry, just got mine the other day so don’t know how long the battery lasts.

I manage to keep a battery for almost 300h of effective workout. Long enough ?

The level of battery can be checked with some app on your phone for example BLE tool.
And have you tried wash your belt? You should clean it if you not.
And polar’s belt works great with suunto watch, if you fed up with suunto strap, go grab a polar HR belt.

@zhang965
Do you know if Polar belt (just belt) is OK with Suunto Smartsensor ?
Suunto new model belts are still out of stocks, and i can not so longer wait for a new one. -
@Mff73 No, is not compatible. The distance between connectors and the size of them are different. Suunto’s is more compact than the Polar.

Suunto new model belts are still out of stocks, and i can not so longer wait for a new one.I don’t know, I only use the Polar OH+ on arm, so I cannot give you the answer,
But what do you mean by new model belts?
there is a new one?
I always have a backup belt.

@cosmecosta
Thanks.@zhang965
Suunto has finally identified that their belts have some issues and have introduced a new design which should make them more reliable and durable.
One should recognize the ‘new’ design model, with the color of the brand/model marking on the belt (grey background) like there.https://forum.suunto.com/topic/4140/which-hrm-chest-strap/35?_=1590646214269

@zhang965 I have one of the new belts and @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos has used his for over a year with no issues. If you order a black belt from Suunto you will get the new design, do not order a colored belt, they are the older design.

@Brad_Olwin
Currently, all belts are out of stock at Suunto.com. Since more than one month.
Surely Covid root cause. -

Surely Covid root cause.I bought a new one recently, make sure to put your email in to be notified when a black belt is available then order. Mine came about one and one half weeks ago.

@Brad_Olwin
I put my email, but never receive one. Plus, I check regularly the site, and never see any stock. -
@Mff73 Put the email in again, I did as soon as I got the notification I ordered.
