Which is your favourite S9 strap?
-
@mountainChris
I’ve got the redbull version of this strap and find it comfortable for sports and casual use.
the only drawback on “textile” straps is that they soak a bit water…
so take it off before the shower unless you don’t mind -
The Velcro strap is by far the most comfortable way for me to wear my Suunto 9 Baro. The ability to “fine tune” the fit is really great when i account for changes in the circumference of my arm from hydration, temperature, and selected activity type.

My favourite strap was an orange one I had for my old S9, just can’t remember where I got it from. It was a good fitting and good quality silicone one, looked great against the black of the S9
The S9 I have now is the gold version, any suggestions as to what colour works well with that model? Thanks in advance

@mountainChris No, I do not have a textile strap. For me, I don’t see advantages over a silicone strap.
-
Textile strap, red. Breathable, to a point.

@Brad_Olwin Again available! Bought!
-
@mountainChris it’s again out of stock, you got the last one
-
Velcro. Has its drawbacks such as bike mounting and putting on, but feels the best on skin.
Also I think it provides the best ohr especially if you wear the watch on the “inside” of the arm (eg due to tattoos )

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos thanks. Inside? What about GPS connection? No Problem? I will try, as soon as my VECRO arrives…

Not that much inside …
-
@isazi you can get an alert by mail on the page. So you have better chances to get it, when it is available again…

@mountainChris I use stryd for pace. GPS is more than acceptable for me. I don’t go chartograph all the time around my neighborhood.
I am relocated at Netherlands that I would sucrifise any any GPS accuracy (provided pace etc comes from stryd) for convinience or as well, way of checking data.
Inner side of the arm let’s you look less at your watch as well.
All this is very personal as you understand and by far objective.

@Brad_Olwin So to clarify, straps for the Spartan will also fit the S9’s?
-
@lexterm77 How long do you find the velcro lasts?

SSS WHR BARO and S9 use both quick release strap
SSS non BARO has “normal” strap
-
@sartoric I just wasn’t 100% sure that the strap dimensions were the same for the Spartan and the S9. Gives a lot more choices if they are
-
anyway straps should be interchangeable
-
For me textile and athletic are the best
Now that it is hot this is perfect

I have not taken it off since a pair moons ago when I bought it when it came out.
So far, I am surprised with this level of comfort without any noticeable wear.I have each and every (Compatible to S9B) series of Suunto straps including leather textile all silicone and diving straps (12 with original) and for the comfort this tops them all.
Beside all day use there is very little wear when cycling or trail running. Washing it get rids of dust and sweat.
Wear wise I would rate leather one on the bottom, since first week it had signs of wear at the particular hole where I wear it. But this typical is with all leather bands.
The rest of bands show no signs of wear after a proper toothbrush cleaning. What I did notice though is that since I bought velcro, I stopped switching between bands all together, even on rainy days. It dries quickly as surface area is large and material seems hydrophobic.

If there are people interested, the black velcro strap seems to be available (at least in the Netherlands, I checked only the Dutch website) from Suunto again.
