S7 roadmap: what are Suunto plans here?
-
@Romain-Sassareu to be absolutely precise, it’s not possible to follow routes within Suunto, but you can follow routes with other Wear OS apps. Many people showed their results on this forum.
-
@isazi Very clear, thank you for confirming. Any name of an app by any chance?
Only this point needs to be cleared out for a potential purchase >
2/ On offline music: What is said here is the following “a music app on your watch that supports offline use”. Spotify does support offline use. Is this then simply inaccurate or is it misleading as it only concerns Google Play Music? What other apps than Google Play Music are then supported?
Do you happen to know?
-
@Romain-Sassareu I only know that Google music supports offline music, and you can play your own files. I haven’t tried any.
-
@isazi Thanks
-
@Romain-Sassareu about offline music I put my songs directly in the watch. No problem at all.
Google music works with the S7.
For a marathon it should be enough. At this moment my longer workout had been 2h and 30 minutes with the S7. Not even close to 50% of battery BUT I don’t use music in it normally.

usic I put my songs directly in the watch.
Thanks. Are you saying “directly” as in form of mp3 files upload?
-
@Romain-Sassareu Yes, I make some mix and in the s7 you can upload your own files. This is pretty good, no service required.
-
@Brad_Olwin your comment about external heart rate monitor is not correct. The gym i am a member of runs workouts based on the data from a heart rate belt. I would like to connect the belt to my S7. I can’t
-
@meyton89 is it a standard bluetooth heart rate monitor?
-
@isazi it is a my zone HRM so yes.
-
@meyton89 then you should be able to use it, but not with the Suunto app (at the moment, we all hope it’ll be possible in the future).

You can connect a belt but not with the SuuntoWearOS app, only a 3rd party app. The OHR is good enough I don’t need a belt with the S7!
-
@Bulkan Clear thanks.
-
OK I have decided I would quite like several programmable battery modes.
To allow users to set modes to save battery at different times during the day.
These modes may turn off sensors or keep the screen on always on mode.

Fossil has smart battery modes. You can choose 4 battery modes, one of these modes is a custom mode to fit your personal needs.
You can try to install this BatterySaver.apk via sideload to your S7. It should be possible and there is no risk to test it on the watch.
-
@pilleus I noticed that when I was looking at different watches before trying the S7. OK thanks I will give it a try.
-
With all the settings laid out as they are ( which is fine for me) being able to also change ones that affect battery life in one area would be good

Any news for updates??
-
no news = bad news?
come on Suunto!
-
Hold on guys
