Spartan update complains

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Of course I’m happy, but also I have to look on the other side of that decision for us users of Suunto app and older watches :).
We, who live in other countries in which that decision is light years away are looking with curiosity and best wishes for a such measure to succeed -
The idea is work less(each one), work more (more people). Productivity will not be interessed, i suppose
-
@bbx100 Oh man, just in a develop country can dream with 4 days labour, 6 hours like Finland. For us it’s a dream! You can produce more in a organized enterprise. Many of IT work in our days can be done at home via internet connection. For company is better. Don’t waste electricity, water, and so on. For worker, you don’t spent hours of your life in car traffic, you work in your space and give more family support. Even you can make meetings with skype with your team. You can live in Tibet and as long you have a good internet connection and no firewall, you can work for Suunto or other. Labour today is very different. To be present is reach targets of work and not to be physical in work place.

I hope they spend much of the extra time enjoying the remote areas of their lovely country and return to work with a new commitment to a better-than-Garmin NAVIGATION FUNCTION. But who am I kidding. It’s gonna be rallying, saunas and maybe a drink. Unless TV has lied to me.

Have you seen the new Suunto 7 preview? I’m really amazed, it has all what I ever wanted from the sport watch and also many users calling for here for long time. Offline maps, OTA updates, 24h activity tracking, etc…
If it looks and performs as declared in preview and marketing videos, it could be the competitor for Fenix 6 for a half price.
It seems that finally changing the watch firmware to Google OS is the only way for Suunto, how to keep in touch with the top sportwatch market, that is developing quickly. -
@radous78 except Fenix 6 has the battery life you expect from a sport watch.
-
@radous78
they are two watches practically poles apart. We await the next generation of suunto 9 for the real opponent of fenix 6. Some ideas from suunto 7 (who said heat maps?), Which however remains a smartwatch, I hope it will be taken -
@Saketo-Nemo Personally I also prefer the Sport functions before the Smart functions.
But honestly speaking, where is the border between Smart and Sport watch? Are offline maps used in sport? I’m sure yes! Is the music listening used during sport (running)? Yes! Is the daily activity statistics (HR, steps, sleep) used for training / recovery plan? Yes.
Definitely these are not the core for sport, but maybe “nice to have”. I’m really OK with my Spartans, for the purpose I wanted. But every improvement / new function is welcomed. Why not?
BTW, is Fenix a Smart or Sport watch? -
It’s been a long time I was waiting for a real update which could correct one bug: wrong altimeter based on maps and gps.
I told since summer about the bug and the answers were only in bla-bla-bla tones.
And then, they issued a new bug with 24/7 HR monitoring which was in battery life killing.
You can notice that green lights are always on during neasurements. It is reducing battery life dramatically: instead of 7 days it works only 4.
And what they answered? It is not bug, but feature. Feature to kill the battery si that people could buy brand new Suunto 7.
No way! -
I see that there were any new threads in Spartan section, it looks like people are tired of this. Two months I wrote a mail to support asking about New Firmware and the possibility of getting new features or at least getting bug fix. What I am getting is as below:
"We are sorry to get you disappointed. Please know that we are still working for new feature’s to be added to our Spartan watches. The last update for Spartan watches only includes performance enhancements. Our developers are working to add new feature’s for all watches for customers to enjoy.
We are committed on giving our customer’s the best experience on using the watch and we will continuously improve our product by updating watch software. Stay tune for new update.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your activities."
Tha was 2 Nov 2019, now it’s march and nothing happened… so you can connect the dots.

New features?
For Spartan?
It would be great, but I don’t think so anymore. -
I think, the best choice for Suunto is to add SuuntoPlus to the Spartan line.
-
@Mi_chael said in Spartan update complains:

Perfect idea, but this is YOUR ideja, not of Suunto. My idea is to put new feature on Ambit 2 line also I have owned all Suunto watches from 2012. These are the facts: Two years for improvement, another year for bugs fixes… for all watches…Period. Maybe some critical bug after 3 years, like date or something like that…Spartan is from 2016 so calculate
-
The grass is not greener with Garmin or Polar.
I’m owner of 945 and Vantage V. And for me Suunto has better hardware. -
@Mi_chael in terms o hardware Suunto 9 > Vantage.
GPS accuracy also S9>Vantage.
When it comes to software, it is difficult for me to compare them because despite the similarity, they are two different products for two different customers. -
Yes, you’re right.
Polar has more features for training and recovery analysis. -
@Mi_chael these features really work for me, they are very good.
-
@Mi_chael I would agree that Suunto has better hardware (from what I’ve read, never owned the others), but that’s a moot point if the software can’t do what you need it to - makes an expensive paperweight.
-
My 945 has a lot of features but also plenty small bug…
-
An update is coming for the S.
Increase the distance with the S Series.
Any alms for the Spartans?
For example: Solve the problem of intervals (when there are several blocks they are not shown in the app)
